Sea Surface Temperatures have gotten very hot around the US, due to greedy SUV drivers.  Note all the hot yellow and red in the image above.

This in turn raises the humidity of the atmosphere. Water vapour and clouds are potent contributors to the greenhouse effect, and they travel to Mississippi and make it very cold. The more greenhouse gas you have, the colder it gets in Mississippi. Out of control heating will most likely lead to an ice age.

It quit heating the ocean a few years ago and moved to Nunavut. But it will be back, and when it does it is going to be really angry.

When considering that much of the planet is running far below normal temperatures, it is important to remember that Earth comprises only a tiny fraction of the Universe. Global Warming is much bigger than just what is happening on your little planet.

Icy weather freeze cattle to death

HA NOI – More than 400 buffaloes in the northern mountain provinces have frozen to death due to damaging cold weather, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Bac Can Province suffered the most severe losses with 200 buffaloes dead. Ha Giang, Lao Cai and Yen Bai Provinces have also been greatly impacted by the freezing temperatures, but Head of the Livestock Breeding Department Hoang Kim Giao said the actual figures remain unknown as the provinces have not yet submitted reports.

Mr Giao is currently working with the provinces to collect updated numbers of livestock deaths. In 2008, over 52,000 buffaloes and cows died during prolonged cold spells; 3,000 deaths were reported in Bac Can Province alone. Mr Giao felt confident that current figures would not exceed those from 2008 since farmers were instructed to cover breeding facilities as early as October.

The trouble is that this energy was not showing up in any measurements which led to Trenberth’s well publicised “travesty” comment in an email published as a result of the “Climategate” leaks which stated: “The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t”.

Knox and Douglass analysed Argo float temperature data for the period from 2003 to 2008 to estimate changes in ocean heat content (OHC). They state that “Our four estimates of the recent OHC trend for 2003–2008 adequately consider interannual variability and we find that the trend is negative”. That is that the ocean heat content has been falling and not increasing.

It is clear from their paper that Knox and Douglass believe that there is no missing energy and that the problem of missing energy is an artifact caused by a “serious overestimate” by Trenberth and Fasullo of the radiation imbalance at the top of the Earth’s atmosphere. Essentially, they are saying that there is no positive radiation imbalance and therefore no need to assume that a store of energy is being built up in the oceans – with the clear implication, although not explicitly stated in their paper, that the Earth may not be not warming.
