Moron Challenge Part II

  • The climate always changes
  • The climate is currently changing
  • Hansen predicted that CO2 would radically change the climate

Therefore the logic conclusions are (pick one or more from below)

  • Hansen was right
  • The climate always changes
  • Every time a butterfly flaps its wings, the climate changes
  • Climatologists have demonstrated almost no skill at understanding or predicting past or present changes in the climate

“Throughout the year, evidence of climate change mounted. Pakistan experienced its worst floods since 1929”

Climate changing! Worst floods since 1929! Damn that CO2.

Lack Of Sea Ice Causes Excess Sea Ice

The Baltic Sea is freezing up much earlier than normal. We are told that the record cold in the Baltic is due to a lack of sea ice, so it follows that the excess sea ice is due to a lack of sea ice.

Al Gore December 2009 : “Snow and ice across the planet are melting much faster than anticipated”

Every school child in the world is exposed to the rantings of this genius.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, December 14, 2009 (ENS) – Snow and ice across the planet are melting much faster than anticipated, and the cryosphere – the Earth’s ice and snow cover – is very vulnerable to climate change, finds a new report presented today at the United Nations Climate Summit by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

Scientists Discover That Cold Is Associated With Snow

Researchers have validated a new weather prediction model that uses autumn snowfall to predict winter cold in the United States and Europe. When snowfall is high in Siberia, the resultant cold air enhances atmospheric disturbances, which propagate into the upper level of the atmosphere, or stratosphere, warming the polar vortex. When the polar vortex warms, the jet stream is pushed south leading to colder winters across the eastern United states and Europe. Conversely, under these conditions the Arctic will have a warmer than average winter.

Maybe the reason there is a lot of snow, is because the jet stream is pushed south?

Half of the Arctic is warmer than normal, and half is colder than normal.

No Correlation Between Arctic Ice And Northern Hemisphere Snow Extent

http://climate.rutgers.edu/snowcover/table_area.php?ui_set=0&ui_sort=1

There has been amazing amounts of noise from the climate science community claiming that the extensive snow cover this year is due to a lack of Arctic ice. But as you can see in the graph above, there is no correlation between Arctic ice extent and snow cover. Some years have more snow, some years have less snow. Arctic ice has nothing to do with it.

Jeff Masters – The Shape Shifter

In 2007, he blamed the late, warm winter on a lack of polar ice. Now he blames the cold, early, snowy, winter on a lack of polar ice.

“If you say it’s going to be warmer than normal, you’re almost always right these days,” said Dr. Jeff Masters, director of meteorology for weatherunderground.com.

I think it’s highly probable that the eastern half of the country will have a warmer winter than normal because of a couple of factors. One is the La Nina episode we’ve got going, and two is the fact that so much of the polar ice cap melted this summer. That’s going to slow down the arrival of winter. Last winter, remember, it wasn’t until the middle of January that the eastern half of the country cooled down.

“When you don’t have a full set of polar ice covering polar waters, it’s harder for big air domes to form and bring us our arctic outbreaks. That same thing is going to happen again this year.
