2000-2010 was the decade when corrupting data records and falsifying or misrepresenting almost every key climate metric became the norm, even perhaps a requirement.

Those poor darlings don’t have any ice to hunt seals from.
“Now we stand at world number one in emissions volumes,” Xie told a news conference in Beijing.
Rich countries should nevertheless lead with steep cuts in their emissions, said Xie, since over time they have contributed most to the build-up of greenhouse gases trapping more solar heat in the atmosphere, and they should give poorer countries room to grow their economies and emissions.

By “rich countries” he means countries like the US which owe China well over $1,000,000,000,000 .
Last week, The Met Office announced their plans to bump 2010 up to #1 by adjusting further corrupting the HadCRUT data upwards. This will be at least the second time this year which they have bumped up 2010 temperatures.
In July, they raised January-April temperatures by a substantial amount.
I wrote the text below at WUWT on July 28, 2010.
HadCrut still shows 1998 hotter than 2010 so far, but they seem to be working on “correcting” that problem.
What if the world faced a calamity that scientists predicted and that science might help prevent…but the general public just didn’t understand it? And at the same time, what if powerful political and business interests found it profitable to convince the public that all the scientists were lying?
That, according to climatologist Richard Somerville, summarizes what’s happening regarding the subject of climate change. And he believes it’s crucial that scientists start doubling their efforts to educate the public and policymakers before it’s too late to preserve the ecosystems we rely on.
Once we get educated properly, we will all know that it really is hot outside and our favourite beaches are gone. Including my favourite snorkeling beach which is right outside Somerville’s office.
They aren’t being shy about the agenda any more.
In one paper Professor Kevin Anderson, Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, said the only way to reduce global emissions enough, while allowing the poor nations to continue to grow, is to halt economic growth in the rich world over the next twenty years.
This would mean a drastic change in lifestyles for many people in countries like Britain as everyone will have to buy less ‘carbon intensive’ goods and services such as long haul flights and fuel hungry cars.
For the past four days, autumn temperatures in Ojmjakon, Russia have been hovering around -60F. I’ll bet they are really looking forward to winter when it arrives!
Temperatures across Russia and Mongolia are running 5-15C below normal, because this is the hottest year ever and Russia is having an unprecedented heat wave.
