Landfalling Hurricanes As A Proxy For US Temperatures

The graph above plots US landfalling hurricanes by decade vs. the 1999 version of GISS US temperatures. As you can see, there was excellent correlation from 1920-2000.

But then something funny happened in 2000. USHCN/GISS corrupted corrected  the US temperature record. It also indicates that the 1880-1920 GISS temperatures are probably too low.

The hurricane proxy no longer works. More evidence that the USHCN nature trick of cooling the past and warming the present is bogus.

Making Up Stuff In Florida

Another global warmer completely unbounded by facts :

Actually, we are off to a rather impressive early start to the ski season here in Colorado.

Breckenridge already has four feet of base and most of the remaining areas open this week. http://www.skireport.com/colorado/ Temperatures have been running far below normal.

When you are saving the planet, it is OK to just make stuff up …..

Fifty Years Of Low Hurricane Activity In The US

Contrary to the hysterical nonsense being spewed by global warming experts, the past 50 years has been about the quietest on record for US hurricanes. The 1940s was the worst.

Climate experts claim that the air in the 1940s was severely affected by sulfate pollution, so apparently they believe that hurricanes are caused by pollution.

“2010 typhoon tally may be lowest on record”

http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nn20101121a5.html

It has also been 799 days since any hurricane struck the US, and 6,663 days since a category 5 hurricane struck the US.

Climate activists remain completely undaunted by facts.

New York Times Questions The Legality Of Climategate Leaks

http://dotearth.blogs.nytimes.com/

The Times policy seems to be that it is OK to leak military secrets (Ellsberg/Pentagon Papers, etc.) but not OK to leak the truth about climate science.

“Skepticism implies doubts about a plausible proposition”

Perhaps we should stop accepting the term, ‘skeptic.’
Skepticism implies doubts about a plausible proposition.
Current global warming alarm hardly represents a
plausible proposition. Twenty years of repetition and
escalation of claims does not make it more plausible.
Quite the contrary, the failure to improve the case over
20 years makes the case even less plausible as does
the evidence from climategate and other instances of
overt cheating.

Ed Begley Jr. Strikes Out

I visit the NASA website and review the data. CO2: Up. Ocean and land temperature: Up. Sea level: Up. Polar ice: Down.

-Ed Begley Jr.

http://climate.nasa.gov/blogs/index.cfm?FuseAction=ShowBlog&NewsID=438

Interesting article. My first question is – why is JPL employing a “climate change communicator?” Funding, perhaps?

But beyond that, Begley is dealing with information which he doesn’t understand. Ocean temperatures are below normal, sea level has been increasing for 15,000 years, and polar ice is about normal.

If JPL is going to employ  a “climate change communicator” they should probably communicate accurate, unbiased information.
