Nice Spin From Climatide

Check out this explanation of LA Times misbehaviour

http://climatide.wgbh.org/2010/11/there-are-two-climate-communication-efforts/

The AGU said no such thing. They said the LA Times article was wrong. Period.

The LA Times did not post a correction. The plopped a lame “clarification” in the middle of an article which everyone had already read.

Obama unveils “don’t ask don’t tell” policy for Iranian nukes.

Obama said he hasn’t seen the kind of progress in negotiations that “could finally create a framework for a secure Israel living side by side in peace with a sovereign Palestine.

UNITED NATIONS — Exhorting world leaders to push past years of cynicism and pessimism, President Barack Obama challenged the countries of the United Nations on Thursday to unite around peace efforts that he said could achieve agreement within a year to create an independent Palestine and a secure Israel.

Hiding The Decline : Proxies Used To Match NCAR And GISS

Mann claims that the tree rings quit working 50 years ago.  The trees work fine, it appears to be some climate scientists who are the problem.

The green line is Briffa’s decline, which Mann hid. NCAR showed the same decline in the 1970s

GISS used to show the same decline for the US, before they “corrected” it away in 2000.

Shock News : Arctic Waters Have Warmed 12 Degrees – Seals Almost Gone – Portions Of Arctic Ice Free

This was reported in 1922

http://docs.lib.noaa.gov/rescue/mwr/050/mwr-050-11-0589a.pdf

1921 was the year when most US states set their record high temperature. It used to be the second warmest year on record in the US before warmists retroactively demoted it a few years ago.

Amazing what animals can do. Apparently they aren’t as clueless as 30% of the human population.

NOAA Global Sea Level Rise Far Below IPCC Estimates

NOAA has 159 global sea level monitoring stations used to calculate trends. The graph above plots all of them, with the pink region showing the IPCC projected range of 19-59 mm/century.

The average of all stations is 6 cm/century, which is less than one third of the IPCC minimum, and 69% of their stations are below the minimum forecast. 26% of the stations are showing sea level decline.

Meanwhile, Hansen’s meltdown of the West Antarctic ice sheet seems to be going a little slow.

Arctic Ocean Almost Full Of Ice

http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/CT/animate.arctic.color.0.html

Ice area is now much greater than the record (high) minimum, which means that any new horizontal ice growth is irrelevant to next summers minimum – other than how it reflects current weather and affects future weather.

What is important now is the wind. If wind pushes a lot of ice out into the North Atlantic during the winter, then the remaining ice will be young and thin next spring.

If the winds don’t push a lot of ice out, then there will be a large increase in the amount of multi-year ice over spring 2010.

Hiding The Decline : Sorry Mike, Trees Haven’t Changed

Nothing reveals the delusions of climate scientists more than this :

Mann said that the tree-ring data stopped reflecting true temperatures 50 years ago for reasons that are not yet fully known

Astonishing that any individual scientist or group of scientists could be basing a theory on such a thought process. The only logical conclusions are :

  • Tree ring proxies don’t work
  • or the “true temperature” data is flawed

What doesn’t make sense is trying to claim that the trees have changed behaviour, and justifying a stupid nature trick based on it.

Mann Admits That We Can’t Trust Climate Models

Mann said it’s not known just how much of a positive feedback effect a warmer, moister atmosphere and the increased cloud cover might have — which is why projections for the global temperature rise by 2100 vary by several degrees. Also, it remains to be seen how well scientists are modeling the effect of weather patterns such as El Nino and La Nina. If the models are off, “maybe we can’t trust what they’re predicting” when it comes to climate change on a region-by-region level.

http://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2010/11/08/5426675-life-after-climategate

Good stuff, but …..

  • We don’t know if clouds are a positive or negative feedback
  • El Nino and La Nina are not weather
  • We know for sure that El Nino and La Nina can not be forecast more than a few months in advance
