New Ice-Free Arctic Forecast

Arctic sea ice volume loss slowed again yesterday, so I am changing my ice-free Arctic forecast to September 21, at 4:59 pm.

Another theory by the New York Times is that the Arctic has been ice-free since 1989.

Expert Says Arctic Ocean Will Soon Be an Open Sea – Catastrophic Shifts in Climate Feared

However, I have noticed a competing trend. Here in Boulder at the 40th parallel, days are a half hour shorter than they were a month ago.  This means that the world will be completely dark in 29 months, which could potentially cause temperatures to drop – offsetting the ongoing increase in CO2.

Regardless of which problem is more serious, it is clear that government intervention and massive taxation is needed to prevent these catastrophic events from occurring.

Look What Your SUV Did Before 1940

A standard trick for climate alarmists is to post before and after pictures showing what your SUV did to glaciers over the past century.

They don’t mention that the ice loss occurred before 1940.

The National Geographic Archive

And never mind that the glaciers were much smaller during the Medieval Warm Period, or when Hannibal took elephants across the Alps.

from perhaps the tenth to the sixteenth centuries, the glaciers of the Alps were much less extensive than at present.

At present they are in general retreating … almost as rapid as at Glacier Bay (Alaska)

Exit Glacier, Alaska – An Icon Of Climate Fraud

Retreating Exit Glacier has become an icon of climate change – Anchorage Daily News

The Exit Glacier in Alaska has been retreating since the Little Ice Age.  Barack Obama took a selfie in front of the glacier to highlight climate change.

In a sense, Obama was correct – the Exit Glacier was retreating much faster one hundred years ago than it is now.

The Retreat of Exit Glacier.pdf

I took the National Park Service table above, added 600 meters of retreat since 1974 based on the map in the Anchorage Daily News, and graphed the retreat rates since 1815.  The glacier was retreating much faster before 1918 than it has been since 1918.

Spreadsheet

As is normally the case in climate science, the data shows the exact opposite of the claim being made.

Keeping Up With The Democrats

George Orwell introduced the language of doublespeak in his dystopian novel “1984”published in 1949. Doublespeak is the language of opposites. Up is down and down is up. The word doublespeak derives from two Orwellian words “doublethink” and “newspeak.”

Doublethink is when a person accepts two mutually contradictory thoughts as correct without being aware or troubled by the glaring contradiction between them.

Doublethink statements like “war is peace” “freedom is slavery” “ignorance is strength” are made without discomfort. Newspeak is a method of controlling thought through language – it is the language of fake news.

Doublespeak combines doublethink and newspeak in language that deliberately obscures, distorts, disguises, or reverses the meaning of words to manipulate public opinion in a mass social engineering effort.

On some days, Democrats angrily deny President Trump’s claims they allow illegal aliens to vote. But on other days they make it official that they allow illegal aliens to vote.

Nothing New Under The Sun

The Clintons and the FBI have been spying on Republicans, and destroying e-mails and other evidence for decades.

Imagine what the FBI would have found had they raided Vince Foster’s office before he “committed suicide” and before Hillary Clinton ransacked Foster’s office.

But then again, attorney-client privilege only applies to Democrats.
