Los Angeles is being warned of a new dangerous heat wave coming this next week. There will be the usual heavy breathing looking for records to be set, but no mention of this heat wave. From the record books, these are still standing:

    July 24, 1891 – 103
July 25, 1891 – 109 – Still standing as the all time record high for the month of July.
    July 26, 1891 – 102

And, when Aug gets here, this one is still on the books:

    Aug 17, 1885 – 104
    Aug 18, 1885 – 102
Aug 19, 1885 – 106 – Still standing as the all time record high for the month of Aug.

    All with no UHI effect.
