Vice-president Al Gore destroyed climate science in 1993, by cutting off funding to any scientists who refused to go along with his scam.
Dr. Bill Gray from CSU was one of the very few who refused to compromise his integrity. Yesterday was Bill’s 86th birthday, and we had lunch in Boulder. A true American hero.

While I’m not an expert in American constitutional law, I’m intrigued by your claim that a vice president had the ability to cut off funding for certain groups. Can you please elaborate how a vice president was able to wield such a power? Can you also explain why VP Cheney failed to recognize this power and wield it during his tenure once the precedent was set during the previous administration?

VP Al Gore personally called to fire Will Happer (at DOE at the time) because he disagreed with one of Gore’s pet scientists over ozone and UV radiation at earth’s surface. Google: Happer Gore. I took a graduate course in theoretical optics when Happer was at Columbia and he gave a fabulous demonstration of how a mirage works with a He-Ne laser, water in a fish tank, and a bag of sugar. Excellence in science is no longer welcome in the federal government.
