Australia Proves That It Is Expensive To Put Idiots In Charge Of The Government

Carbon price can stop power pain: Gillard

Unless a carbon price is introduced next year, Australians face a decade of rising electricity prices and the risk of blackouts, Prime Minister Julia Gillard says.

In an interview with News Ltd, she acknowledged that households are struggling to pay high power bills, and said things will get even worse for families if investment uncertainty in the electricity industry continues.

Mr Gillard says the only solution is to resolve the debate over carbon pricing which is delaying investment decisions.

“We can’t have the next decade be like the last decade – uncertainty, under-investment, rising prices, risks of blackouts,” she said.

“I’ll be explaining carbon pricing and seeking by the end of the year to deliver a national understanding about how we’re going to price carbon. We’ve got to get this right. We’ve got to deal with the complex problem of carbon pricing.”

News Ltd says both main political parties are spoiling for a major fight on carbon pricing in 2011.

coalition will this week roll out a new advertising poster with the message: “Labor and the Greens – carbon tax on everything.”

Ms Gillard admitted she’s vulnerable to the opposition campaign, but will counter it by explaining the problem through advocacy – and she didn’t rule out a government advertising campaign.

This is ludicrous, as we are going to have blackouts like the UK will soon as well, as coal plants want to be closed down and replaced with windmills. How will this make electricity cheaper. Where is all the money going already, we already pay so much tax on petrol, why can’t they use this money to build there pretend windmills so they feel better about their cushy life?

And if Julia Gillard wants a price on Carbon, should I start buying diamonds, since will this also push the price up?

Maybe Australia should send the money ($599million) to the Queen of England, as she has trouble paying for the palace heating bills?

Yep, green power generates a lot of red ink

Might I suggest a solution to the problem?

    Carbon (Dioxide) = $0.00/tonne

Works for all currency exchanges too!

People in Oz are already hurting from desal water plants in the cities, mandatory renewable electricity and no more coal fired generators. Add to that a ban on nukes and you have the perfect storm. Business wants certainty cries Gillard but overlooks the certainty of a zero carbon price as PJB suggests.

What she wont admit is the uncertainty her government has brought to many green companies. Various green schemes are first lauded, advocated then abandoned leaving suppliers and contractors in debt and destroyed. The generators don’t want to spend billions on this months great idea to find it abolished five years on. She provides uncertainty all by herself.

All caused by the greatest scam ever perpetrated. There are many who should be jailed over this.

Members of the Labour and Green Parties are not capable of cognitive thought. Somehow they imagine the 5 cent/ kw-hr cost of coal powered electricity and the 30 cent / kw-hr PV electricity as being equivalent. As more citizens on the grid switch to PV power for their homes and are paid a bonus of 40 cent/ kw-hr for PV power sold to the grid, the rest of us are left holding the bag.

Once everyone in Oz is on PV power, we all get caught holding the bag. I can’t imagine how much my taxes will go up to fund this fraud.

This is what brought down Spain and Julia still hasn’t gotten the message.
