Hansen : Global Warming Unabated – Met Office : Global Warming Has Slowed

Global warming continues unabated – NASA

“When we average temperature over five or 10 years to minimise that variability, we find global warming is continuing unabated,” Mr Hansen said.

Global warming has slowed because of pollution

Global warming has slowed in the last decade, according to the Met Office, as the world pumps out so much pollution it is reflecting the sun’s rays and causing a cooling effect.

When the Earth warms, it is due to burning coal. When the Earth cools it is also due to burning coal. It is warming and cooling at the same time, due to burning coal.

Don’t you love it when these alarmists set up a “win-win” situation for themselves, so that no matter what happens, we horrible, greedy humans are to blame!

  2. Mike Davis says:

You misunderstand! They are both saying the same thing: We do not know what is going on so we will wing it by making wild a@@ claims! It is consistent with what the multimillion dollar models project because with the reliability of input data the outputs are equally reliable GARBAGE!

  3. we find global warming is continuing unabated,” Mr Hansen said.

    He means him and Gavin?

Hansen’s a hoot and the Met doesn’t have any credibility. They’re not talking out of both sides of their mouth, their talking out of both sides of their posterior orifices.

Let’s look at Hansen’s statement. He states that GW has gone unabated for the last 5 or 10 years. Hmm, we’re always told that 10 years isn’t long enough to discern a trend, much less 5. But let’s look at the 10 yr unabated GW. 30 vs 10 yr trends. http://www.woodfortrees.org/plot/gistemp/from:1981/plot/gistemp/from:1981/trend/plot/gistemp/from:2001/trend

Oops. Turns out, Hansen is FOS. There is clearly, even using his own cooked numbers, a decrease in the trend.

The Met is even funnier. From the article, “One of the major factors is pollution over Asia, where the huge growth in coal-fired power stations….

Ahh, what a difference a year makes. From the very same writer, in the very same paper, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/copenhagen-climate-change-confe/6713419/Copenhagen-climate-summit-the-thinking-persons-guide.html , this article mentions coal 5 times linking coal to warming, specifically mentioning China 3 times.

Louise, dear, do you even bother to read what you write? Just because the Met states something doesn’t mean you must relinquish your critical thinking processes.

Apparently, coal plants both hot us up and decreases the warming trend, simultaneously! P.T. Barnum was right! People actually buy into this stuff!

    • Mike Davis says:

You have to give Big Jim credit! The rate of global warming HAS gone unabated for the last 10 years. He failed to mention it is going in a negative direction unabated. We are currently experiencing the negative phase of the global warming.

What happened to the ‘warmest year on record’: The truth is global warming has halted

  6. Espen says:

Well, if I use the giss mapping tool, the most recent decade comes out warmer than the previous:
    http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_nmap.py?year_last=2010&month_last=10&sat=4&sst=1&type=anoms&mean_gen=1112&year1=2001&year2=2010&base1=1991&base2=2000&radius=250&pol=reg

But look at China and India – where’s that pollution cooling?

  7. Glen Shevlin says:

If you apply the correct coefficient of making my argument correct anything can be made to conform

  8. Lance says:

we will never have cooling….Hansen will see to that…
