IPCC 2007 – Warmer Winters For Northern Europe

In addition to warmer winters, Europe’s northern regions will experience more precipitation and run-off. The expansion of forests and agricultural productivity will be accompanied by greater flooding, coastal erosion, loss of species and melting of glaciers and permafrost.

‘Scientific’ Study Boils Conservatism Down to a Brain Problem (it has yet to be peer-reviewed)

    • peterhodges says:

well i would contend that any paradigmatic-dogma-ism boils down to brain problem. and for the same reason as stated…

conservatives have an enlarged “fear” area in their brains, and smaller areas associated with courage and optimism.

it is not only ‘conservatives’ manipulated by fear.

although real conservatism is a cowardly philosophy.

      • Latitude says:

” Scientists have found that people with conservative views have brains with larger amygdalas, almond shaped areas in the centre of the brain often associated with anxiety and emotions.

On the otherhand, they have a smaller anterior cingulate, an area at the front of the brain associated with courage and looking on the bright side of life.”
        ===============================================
        How odd
In real life it’s the opposite………………

      • All this talk about what scientists have found in the brain of certain types of people sounds like, sorry to say, Nazi Germany.

      • peterhodges says:

good point amino, and that is kinda scary.

    • Sundance says:

So I guess all the kids that I tricked and who ended up with their tongues frozen to a lamp pole when I was young, were really brilliant liberal risk takers. ;*) Makes me wonder how many of Bernie Madoff’s clients were not conservatives. lol

IPCC (Chapter 14, 14.2.2.2, Working Group 1, The Scientific Basis)

Third Assessment Report: “In sum, a strategy must recognize what is possible. In climate research and modeling, we should recognize that we are dealing with a coupled nonlinear chaotic system, and therefore that long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible.”

  3. My brother couldn’t take his vacation to New York City this week. All the warm weather had shut down all the airports.

  4. Latitude says:

Andrew Bolt does a good job of wrapping it up too:

I don’t think the warmists’ models are working

  5. Nonoy Oplas says:

From UK Met to UNEP to WMO to UN IPCC, all the wrong climate predictions from as short as 3 years ago.

  6. Mike Davis says:

And 3 years ago when they were told their models were wrong they claimed not enough time had passed to make that claim even if the claim was about historic reconstructions. It is more obvious now but I think they wanted a few more years to massage the data to fit the models.

  7. I like to see these stories of how “global warming ‘science’ ” only predicted warmer winters, not colder, longer winters with snow covering a larger portion of land.

All this recently found “science” that global warming will cause colder winters is being done after the fact that winters have been getting harsher and harsher.

  8. Andy Weiss says:

But now they saying AGW is causing colder winters. Since they were clueless in that regard 3 years ago, it shows they don’t have any idea what really is going on.

    IPCC AR4
    11.3.3 Climate Projections

“In this century, (european) warming is projected to continue at a rate somewhat greater than its global mean”

“The warming in northern europe is expected to be largest in winter”.

“all climate simulations show warming in Great Britain and continental Europe”

No cooling trend. Ever. Under any circumstances.

    • truthsword says:

What you are saying is a myth, it is simply a denialist tactic. Our theories have all along stated that no matter the weather event, AGW, errrrr now ACC, is the cause. Although we focused on the heat aspect when it was warmer, now that the winters a colder and snowier, we can now focus on the fact that ACC causes colder snowier winters too. We have said this all along, no matter the weather events, ACC is responsible. You can continue to try an be cute, but the public will see through this charade and understand we have clearly stated all along that ANY and ALL weather events are a direct result of ACC, and not just the “warm” ones. Thank you. That is all.

  11. glacierman says:

I think they will find a teleconnection between blizzards and heat waves.

  12. Andy Weiss says:

The 1930’s, which produced many heat extremes in the US also had unusual cold extremes in the winter.
