NASA Shock News : Hottest Year Ever

Romm reports :

What a tremendous surprise that Hansen came up with this result – which was going to be reported even if the Earth plunged into another ice age.

Hot, cold or in between, every month is the hottest on record!

  2. Morgan in sweden says:

    GISS Nov 10 0.73

OK I can only comment on Sweden and Norway

In Sweden this was of the 6 coldest Novembers in 110 years according to SMHI. Just checked SMHI (Swedens NOAA), the figures from GISS are wrong, terribly wrong, 1 to 1.5 degree C to high. Norway (second coolest on record according to YR.no) is worse, 2-3 degree C to high. This can not be an error, this is something else, GISS please!

  3. suyts says:

Amazing. More reality denying numbers! It will be the hottest evuh! Even if it sets record lows in Cancun.

  4. Mike Davis says:

It is the warmth that is in the system that is now exiting the system with less incoming than needed to maintain our comfort level.

  5. Paul Pierett says:

Not one month this year has been warmer than any other month on record here in the USA. Who or Whom are they talking about.

The truth still seeks the light.

You just can’t trust them even one year after Climate-Gate. Maybe the GOP can drag a few directors over the coals next month.

The average temperature in November 2010 was 43.3 F. This was 0.8 F warmer than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average, the 46th warmest November in 116 years. The temperature trend for the period of record (1895 to present) is 0.1 degrees Fahrenheit per decade. 2.02 inches of precipitation fell in November. This was -0.10 inches less than the 1901-2000 average, the 50th driest such month on record. The precipitation trend for the period of record (1895 to present) is 0.04 inches per decade.

If it’s warm everywhere else except where people actually live why does it matter?

Warm is good anyway, we should want it to be warmer!

I’d be more worried if the 1850s trend stopped!

NASA I just want to know why if Uranun is covered in Methane, why is it -224C and colder then Neptune?

  8. peterhodges says:

there is no actual location as warm as giss says the whole planet was

    man made global warming

it is a product of james hansens supercomputers

  9. MattN says:

10 months? I had pipes freeze and burst last winter and I live in NORTH FREAKIN’ CAROLINA!!!

10 months my white ass. We froze our (insert body part) off until March. February was coldest in 35 years here…

  10. PJB says:

Look, how else do you expect them to have the temperature be “lowered” by the “return” to the “safe” level of 350 ppm [CO2]?

Clearly, the global temps have been trending downward about 1/4 degree (C) for the last decade. With the next 20 years of cooling to come, they could crow about how carbon “controls” have reduced pollution AND temperature! (and population and economies but that is just people and THEY don’t count as much as the other endangered species….)

Hansen and Gore started their plans 20 years ago and had them nearly perfected. Too bad for them that Climategate and the intrepid band of realist resisters threw a monkey-wrench into their works.

  11. It's always Marcia, Marcia says:

    Steven Goddard,

I remember you started commenting at Watts Up With That earlier this year that from seeing what James Hansen/NASA was saying NASA had predetermined 2010 was going to be the hottest year ever. But we have the satellite record (and maybe CRU) to compare it too. They cannot stop RSS and UAH. The truth will win.

    • Hansen appeared to have made up his mind that this was the hottest year back in January. When you control the data, you can do that sort of thing.

    • Tony Duncan says:

      More and more obvious fraud.
This is great. They are so screed now that they just openly fake the entire global temperature. This must be their last desperate attempts to pull the wool over our eyes before they figure out their escape plan.

      • they just openly fake the entire global temperature.

You need to be more accurate in your sarcasm. They don’t “fake the entire” record. Just enough.

      • Tony Duncan says:

This is NOT sarcasm. My sarcasm I make very obvious. this is just drawing consistent conclusions from the observations on this blog.
So do they fake it just enough to raise temps enough that they know they can get away with? Regardless it is clearly out and out fraud if the temps are going lower and someone reporting the actual temps says they are going higher.
It it has to be pretty easily demonstrated that the fraud is occurring.

      • Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

How come in the past it was called Medieval Climate Optimum http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Medieval_climate_optimum since last time it was a bit warm, wasn’t everyone dying from floods, and other massive hot spot disasters over and over again?

      • Tony Duncan says:

I don’t know of anyone who contends that the WMP was 2°C warmer than today.
there have been massive floods and hot spot disasters thoughout history. it is their frequency and intensity that are at issue, and I don’t know anything about the degree of frequency of climate related disasters then. But certainly what is happening now, even if it is partially exacerbated by ACC is not outside the realm of natural variation.

    • Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

But this is hottest year ever since 1850 (not including 1930 of course) so really 1970. Sarah Palin’s age of the earth is 6000 years old. So why is the IPCC so far off Sarah’s figure? I mean, I see people in the street that are 80-90 years old, surely the earth is older then 40 years old
