Hadley …. Must Not Use Brain …..

Over Amazonia, projections are for large percentage decreases in rainfall and increases in air temperatures, with the changes becoming more pronounced after 2040.  For temperature (Fig. 13 d-f) the projected warming in the tropical regions varies from 1-2 °C in 2010-40 to 6-8 °C by 2071-2100, with increases being largest in the Amazon region.

Satellites show that there has been no warming in the tropics for at least 30 years, and global warming theory doesn’t expect there to be much warming in the tropics. Radiative transfer models show that CO2 is responsible for only about 1% of the greenhouse effect in the tropics, and additional CO2 adds very little.

“I do not disbelieve the science, but I see a big difference between science and “national scientific establishments”. To believe in scientific establishment is impossible. This is just another powerful rent-seeking group, seeking rent for themselves, not for the mankind.”

The models do state that most of the warming will be in the higher latitudes. Has the met office been off their meds? 🙁

    Where’s that hot spot again?

  4. Andy Weiss says:

If it were to heat up 6-8 degrees (C), the tropical regions of Brazil, it would be uninhabitable for most living things. It this catastrophe were going to happen in only 60 years, wouldn’t there already be a strong warming trend?

This statement is a good nomination for the AGW outrage of the day!
