Many alarmist blogs, like Joe Romm don’t allow any differing viewpoints. I do, but this blog is getting flooded with endless repetition of the same stupid comments over and over again. I am starting to get much more aggressive with my spam filter.
If you want to object to something specific I am saying, fine – but keep your offended generic religious sensibilities to yourself.
One reader noticed that the technique I was using for measuring NIC ice was not as accurate as it could be. I appreciate that. I don’t appreciate idiotic complaints about map overlays as being “homemade graphs.”
Finish third grade before you post.
Hope this isn’t classified as abuse:

That’s the problem of getting famous, paparazzi. This must mean you’re doing a good job. Maybe the next legislation they make blog abuse a crime, if you’re on their side of course.

I fail to see the point of ‘climate scientists’ coming onto this blog and simply repeating the talking points that have convinced them, ignoring the criticisms of sceptics. Maybe the sceptics are wrong. Fine. But address the points raised by sceptics and explain why they think are wrong. Sceptics fail to be impressed by arguments from ignorance, arguments from authority and ad hominem. Yet these sorts of fallacies are repeatedly endlessly.

I’m sorry Steve, I am probably one of the guilty ones with my “who cares” comments about Arctic sea ice. I will refrain.
FYI, I still have not had anyone present any intelligible explanation as to why it matters if all the ice in the Arctic melts. And I am getting a little bit tired of all of the Arctic sea ice crap. For some, it seems a little more ice here, and a little less ice there, suddenly proves AGW is going to wipe out the universe. Give me a break. It’s getting old, I’m getting tired, and I am no longer a nice guy about it.
Hey Squid! You are working my side of the street again. 😉
I always wondered where the clouds came from that brought the snow to build up the ice cap over the Northern land mass and made sea level drop 120 m . How many cold snowy winters do you need? If the Arctic is frozen over isn’t it more like a desert with less snowfall. Or do you need a frozen Arctic so summer temperature stay low in Canada and the winter snow survives summer ?
Hey squid,
How many times do we need to mention Dr. Francis’ work at Rutgers:
http://www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/2012/2012GL051000.shtml
The Arctic sets the tone for much of the weather in the entire NH hemisphere.
BTW, sorry you’re so old and tired.
So, Gates, still, explain to me how the Arctic ice free all summer is going to affect anything. This article does no such thing and is complete bullshit. If this were true, we would be seeing it almost every year, and we don’t. You alarmists continue to spout off how we have a new “world record” Arctic melt, and yet, the weather, the climate, still the same. Show me the “extreme” weather that all of this extra melt has caused. We have, supposedly, a record melt this year, and yet, hmmmm, in terms of “extreme” weather, there isn’t any. So, again, explain to me how an ice free Arctic is going to change anything, anything at all. This is complete and utter bullshit!
Oh, and what I am tired of, are asshats like yourself. I have come to the end of my rope, and I will no longer be nice about it. I will treat dipshits like you just like dipshits. I am no longer a nice guy about it. I have had enough. You can cherry pick, nose pick, do whatever picking you like, but the facts still all lead to … wait for it .. your full of shit, and I’m not going to pay for your idiocy. Even if I were to give you the benefit of the doubt, the facts are, there isn’t shit one that you can do about it. So, take your crap and go away.
“Evidence linking Arctic amplification to extreme weather in mid-latitudes”
“…which MAY lead to an increased probability of extreme weather events…”
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
In 1975, the CIA blamed extreme weather on excess arctic ice.
One of the more sane explanations I’ve seen is at http://chiefio.wordpress.com/2012/08/22/arctic-melting/
The comments stay real as well.
Take it as a compliment it shows you are hitting a nerve
Steve, this is YOUR blog. It belongs to you. It is not a democracy since this is your house not a public space. Allow in your house only people you want to see. Including this poster.
Here here … completely agree. ANY decisions or actions concerning this blog, that Steve so chooses, has my complete support, even if that means banning me from it. This is your blog, you run it entirely the way you, and only you, choose to. This is what freedom looks like.
In actual fact, I think Steve has been very patient with some of the bloggers, unlike as stated the “alarmist” blogs who will allow nothing. Good on you Steve to allow them their view point, but Alarmists…make your point and move on..
ps…who cares if we have a ‘record’ minimum…isn’t gonna pay my bills…but after 3 cold years in a row for us here in Alberta, we have enjoyed a wonderful year, and OH NO…i may break my warmest year ever this year…god forbid!! (6.0 C – 2006) and so far we are at around 5.5C for the year…and I’LL TAKE IT….
Lance, does that mean you played a record amount of golf this summer? If so, that would be a crime against the planet. Just kidding!!
No, but a heck of a lot of cycling this summer!
Bringing religion into it is a common thing with Warmists, as they attempt to deflect the conversation elsewhere, get the author and commenters to rebut the religious notions, mainly because most Warmists aren’t capable of free thought.
Warmists can’s stand the truth. Arctic sea ice ‘record lows’ only show that the inflection point is close and we are getting out of the negative phase of the multidecadal atlantic oscillation. I predict increasing ice extent and volume for the next thirty years, at least. Hope that the feedback mechanisms don’t kick in and we go back to snowball Earth.
Keep up the good work!
Steven there’s nothing wrong with arctic real raw data maps they tell
the truth some people has problems with the truth and have there heads stuck up there ass I respect you friend you tell the truth
