Yes because sea level will spiral out of control. Ok hasn’t happened and there is evidence it is accelerating but it *might* happen, in theory, right? What if the skeptics are wrong? We need to spend trillions on speculative threats that might happen rather than deal with actual problems now. Makes sense.
Actually it’s worse than we thought. Global warming (alarmism) has submerged DC under many fathoms of greenbacks.
But also by then, the increased warmth will have enabled government to extend it’s range further north, as we’re seeing in similar primitive species, perhaps even into areas once considered too reality-based for governments to survive.
More likely by neglect and weeds.

Also, I want a grant to study to possible effect of an alien invasion over the next century. The space type of alien, not the Mexican type. There is no way to prove or disprove that happening either.
