Hiding The Decline In October Temperatures

According to GHCN HCN thermometers, the five warmest US Octobers were in 1963, 1947, 1900, 1950 and 1938 – and October temperatures in the US have been steadily declining since at least 1895. NCDC has fixed this problem by cooling the past as much as three degrees, and warming the present by as much as 0.5 degrees.

Despite all the artificial adjustments, the global average temperature over the past 16 years still shows no statistically significant warming (see HadCRUT3, RSS, UAH). In fact, we’ve seen a slight cooling trend since 2002. Imagine what the trend would show if the temperature tweakers were adjusting measurements downward to account for the urban heat island (UHI) effect.

The snake-oil salesmen at NDCC and GISS are going to have to worker harder at fudging the data if they hope to keep the AGW scare alive and the research dollars flowing.

It looks like the way it has been cooling that any greenhouse gas effect has been a strong positive. Who wants another Ice Age?
