New York had an unscheduled Earth Hour for several weeks in October. They met and exceeded Bloomberg’s carbon reduction targets that month.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Sandy victims left out in the cold during arctic blast
The cold wave has brought single-digit temperatures to the Northeast, some 10 to 15 degrees below normal for the time of year.

Yes but that was bad, because it was man’s fault.
Kinda like Antarctica, where excess ice is bad, because it’s man’s fault that it’s not suffering the consequences of man made warming
But it is the perfect imagery for malthusian luddites is it not? And it’s not as if their opponents come up with this stuff to mock them… They actually thought of it themselves. Imagine, a group of them actually got together and decided they would switch off all the lights and that would be *symbolic* of their goals, and an even bigger bunch of them loved the idea…
And, people like Me will offset that with a bonfire and enjoy ourselves too.
But this will help our future generations!
