Climate alarmists again prove that they are imbeciles, completely insane, and a threat to civil society
A state representative in Washington has drawn the ire of cyclists everywhere with recent comments he made regarding the sport.
In an e-mail to a Tacoma, Wash. bike shop owner about a proposed bicycle tax, State Rep. Ed Orcutt came to the conclusion that cycling is bad for the environment because people exhale an increased amount of carbon dioxide when they’re pedaling on a bike.
“Also, you claim that it is environmentally friendly to ride a bike,” Orcutt wrote. “But if I am not mistaken, a cyclists has an increased heart rate and respiration. That means that the act of riding a bike results in greater emissions of carbon dioxide from the rider. Since CO2 is deemed to be a greenhouse gas and a pollutant, bicyclists are actually polluting when they ride.”

And your increased activity might lead to a longer life, so we need to institute death panels to make sure you don’t outlive your usefulness to the collective.
Lacutus of Borg.
Well, the framework for the death panels is already in place…..so just wait a few years to reap the benefits.
Yep, breathing heavy is now destroying the planet. How long till these loones will propose a breathing tax? What will they do when they realize that the rich can afford offsets that allow them more breaths per minute than the ruled class?
Heavy breathing? I guess they’re getting ready to regulate making out, too.
Maybe this will make some libtards wake up to the absurdity of their war on CO2, but I doubt it.
Ed Orcutt is a conservative leaning Republican. He was being sarcastic.

He’s not “the Borg” as you term it.
No, but you are.
No, but here is a Borg, and what Orcutt was rightly mocking…
“Walking does more than driving to cause global warming, a leading environmentalist has calculated.
Food production is now so energy-intensive that more carbon is emitted providing a person with enough calories to walk to the shops than a car would emit over the same distance. The climate could benefit if people avoided exercise, ate less and became couch potatoes. Provided, of course, they remembered to switch off the TV rather than leaving it on standby.
The sums were done by Chris Goodall, campaigning author of How to Live a Low-Carbon Life, based on the greenhouse gases created by intensive beef production. “Driving a typical UK car for 3 miles [4.8km] adds about 0.9 kg [2lb] of CO2 to the atmosphere,” he said, a calculation based on the Government’s official fuel emission figures. “If you walked instead, it would use about 180 calories. You’d need about 100g of beef to replace those calories, resulting in 3.6kg of emissions, or four times as much as driving.
“The troubling fact is that taking a lot of exercise and then eating a bit more food is not good for the global atmosphere. Eating less and driving to save energy would be better.”
“Mr Goodall, Green Party parliamentary candidate for Oxford West & Abingdon, is the latest serious thinker to turn popular myths about the environment on their head.”
Nice insult – way to try to deflect from your lack of fact checking.
Gator69: that analysis presumes everyone is eating beef at all times. I eat meat for less than a quarter of my meals, and even then, it’s just as likely to be chicken as beef.
Yes, that’s the answer Gina! 😆
Say hello to Locutus for me.
Gator:
That is the report I read a few years ago!
Gina:
It really has little to do with the ASSumption of eating meat. Manual Labor requires more energy to accomplish the same results as mechanical labor. On is neither Saving or Destroying the Planet’s environment with Manual Labor or mechanical labor. It is a matter of efficiency of energy.
Sorry, but reading the actual email, I don’t get any suggestion that he’s being sarcastic. He also suggests that cyclists don’t pay enough taxes to support the roads they use.
He’s no conservative if he supports a bicycle tax.
Liberals want to tax everything. Next thing you know is we’ll have a carbon tax on food based on the total calories contained in the item.
uk oh,,,,,there’s goes sex
😉 😉
Disco Sex Tax Act of 2013!
Looks like the Borg are losing, badly, in the public arena…
“Leo Hickman of the Guardian’s Environment blog Friday had a frustration-filled, teeth-gnashing screed where he expressed his disdain over so many skeptic blogs being nominated for the best Science & Technology Category of the Weblog Awards 0f 2013.
He accuses the climate skeptics of “gaming” the competition because they’ve succeeded in generating so much enthusiasm.
It was tough not to gloat reading that piece. It’s indeed a good look at a sour grapes display by the increasingly defeated looking alarmist side, now that they see they have got no chance of winning. Of the five finalists, four are skeptic blogs. The sole remaining alarmist blog, Skeptical Science, has dropped out.”

Ouch!
The Chicken Little Brigade Blogs banned most of the logical commenters from participating in there “SKY IS FALLING” discussions! That resulted in low reader count for those sites.
The people behind those web sites are also the most irritating and unpleasant people on Earth. That is why they do not debate anybody in public – because they come off looking so bad.
After Gavin Schmidt and Brenda Ekwurtzel realized that they created more skeptics with their public appearances than if they didn’t do it at all – they quit the podium shows
I have had my confrontations with the GAV at RC! You are right about them withdrawing to their Coops to hide from reality!
Is that guy for real???
I do believe they have jackets for those sorts and padded rooms!
For these people, the only thing that you can do to benefit the environment is to die! What is wrong with them?
Mr. Orcutt needs to lead the way by ceasing to emit CO2 entirely. Then the world will be a saner, safer place.
Glad to see omeone has the smarts to target the fascists with their own self-serving carp. I have long proposed a jogger’s tax. Lazy buggers like me should be subsidized to do precisely nothing.
