Breaking A Destructive Association

Lefties associate a disarmed citizenry with safety and happiness

Assault weapons should only be allowed for military, police and Border Patrol.

Assault weapons should be banned | assault, weapons, mass – YumaSun

History tells us that a massive paramilitary combined with a disarmed citizenry is a recipe for disaster. Even if you trust Obama, there is always the next guy. Our safety net is based on a system of checks and balances, not faith in any individual.

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”

– Thomas Jefferson

” … to disarm the people – that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them.“

– George Mason, 3 Elliot, Debates at 380

“[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation…(where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.”

–James Madison, The Federalist Papers, No. 46

Americans are more likely to be killed by a hammer or baseball bat than by a rifle. Americans are 100X more likely to be killed by a car than by a rifle.

These images are the correct association to make with a disarmed citizenry.

Our right to bear arms precedes the Constitution as it is one of our unalienable rights given to us by our Creator. As the right was not given away to the Federal government, it falls outside its ability to make laws about it or regulate it.
