US temperatures have been running below normal for most of the country in 2013, and so far are the coldest in 20 years for the first three months of the year.
Alarmists made huge news out of last year’s warmth, and forgot to mention that five out of the last six years started out with below normal temperatures. (The 2013 numbers will probably rise a little before the month is over.)
As you have pointed out, unusually cold air for both North America and Europe during the next couple of weeks. Western Europe may end up with their coldest March in a long time.
We have actually shed our pale of Arctic cold out west, and are finally having some springtime weather.
Here in Southern Ontario, we had a two-day taste of spring this past weekend (March 9 and 10). Both days hit about 10C (50F) and most of the snow melted. Other than that, March has been cold, wet, and miserable (it was about 20F this morning). Last March it was so warm, my tulips were coming up and the alarmists were going crazy. I could go for some of last year’s “global warming” right now!
The weather was up and down in Nov and Dec, but since the start of the New Year it has been cool. But it does appear that spring is near as the 70’s are on the way for the weekend and early next week.
NOAA,…how will they describe this on the Extreme scale…probably as a non event…
We’ve got a ways to go and spring breakup is definitely down the road a bit…

The majority of Australia had cooler minimum temperatures over the last 12 months. This is a sure sign that the Carbon Tax of Obama’s girlfriend is working here. Australia has been saved.
