Early Spring Arrives In Minnesota

    Because saying it will be -3 C this week doesn’t sound as dramatically cold, does it?

    And the Weather Channel says all of this drought-snow is going to sublimate and the midwest will still be in a drought.

    From southern MN,, last year at this time the lakes here were nearly free of ice. Right Now I am looking at SUV’s, on the middle of a lake, of those doing late season ice fishing. . Weather happens.
    (Although, I think they are pushing their luck a little)

    Pathway, unfortunately that from the WC is fairly true.
    Due to land use changes we get a certain amount of run off.
    We NEED some local warming to thaw the land so water can penetrate into the soil.
    However, conditions here and elsewhere are not even close to how bad they were in the thirties.

    I have seen blossoming cherry trees in the DC area, though the ones on the mall have not yet come out. It is surprising to see that, since temps have actually averaged slightly below normal since 1/20.
