According to NOAA, the winter of 2011-2012 was the third most extreme on record in the Northeastern US
This is beyond absurd, because there was essentially no extreme weather that winter. I was living in Columbia, Maryland and did not have a car. I rode my bicycle every day. There were never any weather conditions which interfered with my cycling for more than an hour or two.
Below is the summary for the winter. Temperatures varied between 13F and 70F. There were no strong winds, or very heavy rain or snow events. The weather was almost picture perfect.
Classic Orwell – mild is extreme – extreme is mild.
typo… 1911 to 1912… s/b 2011 to 2012?
Steven may have been living there in 1911-1912! 😉
I can easily understand surviving the…er…”extreme winter weather” in Maryland. But kudos for surviving the extreme liberal ideology in Maryland.
Here in Maryland, during winter 2011-12 we were able to play an extreme amount of golf and heating bills were extremely low. Also an extremely small number of days having to scrape ice/snow off the car. How we survived all that extreme weather, I will never know.
