A new record was set yesterday. My car thermometer read 55 degrees at 4 PM, while at the same time DCA (Reagan National Airport), the official station for Washington, DC read 62 degrees, an all time record of 7 degree difference! There was nothing in the real world to account for such a difference. It was sunny, relatively light wind, no difference in the air mass between my home and the airport.

I recall saying 3 years ago that the temperature at National was very accurate because it was, duirng daytime, only at most a degree or two different from my car thermometer. Now it is a joke.
Something is very rotten. They are determined to make every year at DCA the warmest on record, even though it has been actually cooling.

Lag time. It was the Roaring Twenties, Flappers, and Tin Lizzies. 😉

Dear Steven, thank you for drawing my attention to this. We had completely overlooked the historical record for West Greenland. I’ll get onto revising this right away. Yours, Mikey.
