Yes, his actual goal is the “freezing and starving hundreds of millions of people”. However, I suggest that he does not really care about himself. The problem is that he hates the responsibility for being human, for using the powers of reason to find truth, for genuinely earning his keep by trading value for value, and respecting the rights of others. He resents these things so much he works to destroy others at the ultimate cost of destroying himself. The millions he has scammed are at best a narcotic that allows him to avoid facing his inner dark truth.

There is NOT a ZERO % chance that when we drill for oil off some deep sea oil rig, it might not open a corridor into another dimension where giant monsters will escape, forcing us to build giant robots to combat them. OK, the probability of this happening is very low. But it’s not zero either.

Do you have any evidence that another dimension filled with giant monsters exists? If not, you are simply projecting science fiction and are totally ignorant of any possibility that it is so. Just saying that something is possible doesn’t make it so. Otherwise the roadrunner cartoons contain a revolutionary theory of gravity: gravity is not effective until the coyote realizes he is running unsupported over an abyss.

The latest AOGCMs are perfectly capable of providing you with proof that other dimensions inhabited by monsters exist. It is just a matter of properly tweeking the parameters to get the desired results. I have faith in our Climatologists to be able to achieve that. Look at the “wonderful scenarios” they have been able to create out of whole cloth in the past! 😉
Unfortunately, I am an old timer who does not view the output of ANY computer simulation as evidence for anything but what it was programmed to do. This in context of being a professional software engineer for over 40 years and having written many simulations. A computer is a perfect government employee. It does exactly and only what you tell it to do. More importantly, it cannot and never will blow the whistle on any government wrong doing. That is unless it was programmed to do so. Even then, what it says has no more meaning than that provided by the programmer and the input data.
