Alarmists Abandon The IPCC

The IPCC forecasts 8-24 inches of sea level rise this century, but that doesn’t work for alarmists, so they just pull numbers out of their asses in a desperate attempt to steal money and freedom from the public.

  1. Norm Milliard says:

    1 degree C = 2.3 M rise in sea level..

Since we’ve had a 0.5C rise does that mean sea level has risen over a meter?

  2. Mike D says:

Quote: “For nearly 80 of those cities, the watery future would come much sooner, within the next decade.”

This is going to be so cool. The beach will be maybe 5 minutes closer each year.

    • There Is No Substitute for Victory says:

All right! Think of all the neat fishing spots that the flooded condos, water covered roads, and swamped casinos will produce.

  3. @njsnowfan says:

Just think if we were living NOW 14,000 yeas ago when the Sea was some 400 feet lower then today. The Climate scientist would look like supper Fortune tellers. Climate models are all so wrong. Heat in = energy out, look at the sun instead of twitter for news stories Climate Scientist.

  4. Wow. I got banned offa THAT site awful quick!

  5. jack b :-) says:

How many of those cites are currently ‘lower than sea level’ ‘ and have been for many, many decades via levees or whatever?

  6. Robertv says:

    Don’t look if you’re an alarmist !

  7. Latitude says:

    – will have significant populations living below the high-water mark….

    roaring laughing………………..

  8. darwin says:

On the bright side … maybe the morons will now flee the coastal areas. It sure make them nicer.

    • gator69 says:

Screw that, I don’t want these leaching morons anywhere near God’s country. Everything they touch turns to Shiite.

  9. CheshireRed says:

The Guardian is losing its marbles on climate. This is te latest of a series of seriously stupid articles, usually without comments allowed. They’re clearly worried as hell that the evidence is suggesting the planet may not be doomed after all, so resort to ramping up the rhetoric. History will not be kind.

    • Jorge says:

I hope someone is saving all these articles from the Guardian, et al. It’ll be fun to throw it back in their face. Even the alarmists I know can’t defend this study, or the ice melt scare from a few days ago, or the implausible impending methane artic bomb from last week. The only people citing and believing this crap are the true, true believers. This nonsense may actually be hurting them as people may be coming to their senses what a load of crap all of this actually is.

  10. “Desperate”? You keep using that word, but they have been doing it for years, with great success (all of our institutions, including the Presidency, are with them)…I do not believe that word means what you think. (Personally, I prefer the word “blatant”.)

    • Jorge says:

They have been bleeding support for several years now. Whereas almost everyone use to support global warming science, now fully one-third of the people oppose it.

Their blatant lies is what makes them desperate. They are desperate because they can’t control the weather, which has been getting colder. So they make up blatant lies to keep people in line. This will be their last chance to get something meaningful done politically. Look what’s happening in Australia, in England, in Ontario Canada. They’re losing grip of the debate, hence their desperation. They need to get something done NOW, because, likely, they won’t be able to do something later. They can’t keep up this charade for much longer.

Obama’s new policy will only destroy him politically. The liberals are lying to themselves if they think it’ll help their cause to call all those who oppose higher taxes and higher energy bills “deniers.” If they lose the election, it’ll be all for nothing as what is done by executive order can just as easily be undone by executive order. Australia will have an election this year where the carbon tax, which the Liberals promise to repeal, will be a main issue. Etc.
