Rained most of the night and well into the morning here in the high desert.
Happened to notice that Lake Mead inflow so far this water year is 136% of average. The lake is 9 feet higher than last year at this time and 28 feet higher than 2 years ago.

The required release from Lake Mead is now almost twice the average inflow! The BLM needs to rethink their policy regarding the water level. In the 80s they increased the outflow because the water ran over the spillways and caused flooding down stream. It appears they are displaying severe HIA syndrome! The water levels are more the result of poor water management than variable weather patterns / AKA, Climate.
