Obama Blames Zimmerman’s Gun For Trayvon’s Behavior

The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy.  Not just for his family, or for any one community, but for America.  I know this case has elicited strong passions.  And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher.  But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken.  I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son.  And as we do, we should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities.  We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis.  We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this.  As citizens, that’s a job for all of us.  That’s the way to honor Trayvon Martin.

How about teaching children not to attack strangers? That seems like a good place to start.

Had Trayvon succeeded in killing Zimmerman by pounding his head against the pavement, Obama never would have said a word about the incident.

When the 14 and 17 yr. old black kids shot a baby in a stroller, it’s hard to think of anything more horrible and soulless. What kind of evil is in people who just causally commit such an atrocity? This is just one of several unimaginable acts committed by black teens, who are out of control and nobody wants to admit it.

  2. Latitude says:

the call for calm reflection from two parents…who have been dragged through the race baiting wringer…have to pay legal fees to defend their son for a crime he should have never been charged with….and now have to protect their son, and themselves, against death threats

..but then that’s assuming Obama had a white child

  3. Chewer says:

The administration and the liberal media have rationalized and promoted racial hatred and they are upset that mass chaos hasn’t ensued.
They’ve done their very best to “Never let a good tragedy go to waste” and will capitalize on every event that comes their way, or create one if needed.

  4. The problem is a mentality that deadly violence by one human being against another is sometimes acceptable, and Obama, because of what he has become as an adult, is neither capable of, nor interested in, changing that mentality.

  5. Gamecock says:

“We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this.”

Constitutional Carry. Do away with concealed carry permits; allow all to exercise their Constitutional right to keep and bare arms. Open or concealed. When all are suspected of carrying, or the possibility that they are carrying is ubiquitous, future tragedies (sic) will be prevented. Unless the punk is really stupid. Let punks think that everyone they attack will have a gun.

Peace will ensue. The teleprompter will get its wish.

I am a gun owner, many times over. However, if I thought relinquishing guns would actually reduce violent crimes, I would acquiesce to it.
The thing is, I honestly believe the opposite would happen. How many deaths do we have as a result of alcohol use?. Including automobile accidents, it is many times greater than by guns, and also many of the gun deaths would not occur without alcohol consumption. We tried getting rid of alcohol. Amazing that we could have an amendment to end it and another to bring it back.
I believe a thorough study of the abolition movement would enlighten us as to what would happen.
BTW, I used to be a hunter, now I just have a collection.

    • Gamecock says:

I have no interest in giving up my rights because other people are stupid.

” if I thought relinquishing guns would actually reduce violent crimes, I would acquiesce to it.”

      Not me, Darryl.

    • Raindog says:

I think I would agree, if there was not a legitimate purpose for gun ownership, we wouldn’t need them, unfortunately, guns are just as important today as they were nearly 250 years ago.

I commend you however on giving up hunting. As a teenager growing up in rural nevada, I’ve had to put down several wounded animals and as an adult i never understood how people can gain pleasure from killing what amounts to defenseless creatures. Even the Bible talks about the need for killing animals as a bad thing; one of the punishments brought about to Adam and Eve. It does not however say we have the right to kill any living thing we see fit and the things it does allow us to kill, it gives us very specific instructions on how to do so.

      • Gamecock says:

Personally, I prefer my Browning A-bolt in .300 short magnum.

      • DarrylB says:

Gamecock and Raindog—better handles than Darryl.
I do not disagree with you. My main point is that it would accomplish very little or nothing good, and much bad, (except that it would drive up the value of my gun collection).
RD–Don’t commend me too much, I am just getting older, less mobile and have lost interest. Although I do go hunting with a camera now and then.
Now so that all PETA members can thoroughly hate me, I put myself through a good part of my college education by trapping.
So Please let me know if you would rather go naked then wear furs. Also, I have not trapped for decades for– just lost interest.
In the real world of nature, I have watched brutal killing of animals by other animals , a gunshot is much less brutal and humane. Trapping can be humane if it is done correctly, but not necessarily so.
Evey watch a film of a polar bear sneaking under an ice berg to get a seal resting on the edge? Gruesome for a little while.

It seems to me that you are saying that you want to end killing with a gun, at the point of a gun.
        Isn’t that about it Spanky?

        • Gail Combs says:

“It seems to me that you are saying that you want to end killing with a gun, at the point of a gun.
          Isn’t that about it Spanky?”

          No,
What we want is to end victimhood, another thing entirely. Without guns the stronger bully wins. With guns a woman or older person is no longer the potential victim of any criminal who comes along and is stronger or more vicious.

Let’s first make it very clear police have no legal duty to respond and prevent crime or protect the victim even in areas where guns are illegal. YOU are responsible for your personal safety. So how does a woman protect herself without a gun? She can’t and the government doesn’t give a shit.

On June 27, in the case of Castle Rock v. Gonzales, the Supreme Court found that Jessica Gonzales did not have a constitutional right to individual police protection even in the presence of a restraining order…..[The Supreme Court] Justices Rule [unanimously] Police Do Not Have a Constitutional Duty to Protect Someone…

The ruling applies even for a woman who had obtained a court-issued protective order against a violent husband making an arrest mandatory for a violation….

“What makes the City’s position particularly difficult to understand is that, in conformity to the dictates of the law, Linda did not carry any weapon for self-defense. Thus by a rather bitter irony she was required to rely for protection on the City of NY which now denies all responsibility to her….”

          ………

The baby and his mother (she was shot in the head and leg) were in Brunswick, Georgia.

          (WIKI)
Georgia firearms permit statute requires the permit applicant to obtain approval of the local county probate court judge, who can deny issuance based solely on a determination that the applicant “is not of good moral character”.

Well that Georgia law certainly didn’t help that baby now did it?

However a Kennesaw, GA city ordinance requires that all homeowners own a firearm and ammunition (Sec 34-1a).

          (WIKI)
          Kennesaw, GA

In 2001, violent crime rates are about 85% below national and state rates. Property crime rates are from 46-56% below national and state rates. From 1999 to 2011, Kennesaw crime statistics reported that both property and violent crimes had decreased, though from 2003 to 2008 the trend in both violent and property crime rates slightly increased.[18] The increase in crime rate overall is attributed to the population growth rate of 37.41%. The population growth rate is much higher than the state average rate of 18.34% and is much higher than the national average rate of 9.71%.

As of 2010, the total population of Kennesaw is 29,783, which is 37.41% more than it was in 2000. The population growth rate is much higher than the state average rate of 18.34% and is much higher than the national average rate of 9.71%. The Kennesaw population density is 3,120.99 people per square mile, which is much higher than the state average density of 163.02 people per square mile and is much higher than the national average density of 81.32 people per square mile. The most prevalent race in Kennesaw is white, which represent 64.23% of the total population……

          Seems criminals rather go elsewhere.

First we have to ban baseball bats. More people killed with those than with guns.

    Priorities people!!

  8. geologyJim says:

The problem is far larger than just young black men who have no sense of personal responsibility, integrity, or shame.

We have entire sub-cultures who feel entitled to public support, who believe that abortion-on-demand is a legitimate remedy for irresponsible screwing-around, and who vote for anyone who will keep the food stamp EBT cards charged up and maintain the free Obama-phones.

    One dead thug-pothead-punk is too bad — — — — — but it’s a start.

  9. Chewer says:

If Holder and crew had their way you could be charged with “Crusin while Cracka” and
    “Creepin while Cracka”-:)

  10. gofer says:

The Daily Mail (UK) is showing a picture of Martin at 12 yrs. old beside a picture of Zimmerman. This is what’s causing the outrage. They think Zimmerman shot a 12 yr. old kid. It’s absolutely criminal for them to be leading people to believe a lie. Disgusting bunch of pukes.

    • shazaam says:

Odd that none of the press used the Facebook pictures Trayvon posted of himself smoking weed. Those were at least a bit more up to date.

  11. Traitor In Chief says:

I’m shocked Obungo said what he did. Still sounded ridiculous. I expected another “my son” comment.

    • David says:

Shocked, how? He said one sentance about a nation of laws, and such, (his cover words) and then, by focusing on the “tragedy” of Treyvon’s death, he again asked the nation to reflect, (The same thing he said when asked about how this incident related to racism in America) and he proceeded to blame guns, when the truth is that Zimmerman’s gun very likely saved Zimmerman’s life.

Obama here, and in his previous public comments puts the incident in the category of racism and gun violence in America. The only racism in this story comes from the media and Obama and Holder and the inflamed black population. Zimmerman is not a racist. Furthermore this incident supports the need and right to carry.

Today we have Sharpton saying he will not stop fighting for justice in this instance, still dividng, still pretending it was a racial incident, and one day after telling Blacks not to get violent after the verdict, thus making that call as hollow as Obama’s lip service to rule of law, etc, while asking Americans to introspect on thier racist past, and none of them, Obama or any other Black leader speaking out aginst threats to murder Zimmerman.

  12. gofer says:

Racism has basically declined to a point it’s no longer a major concern and that’s the problem, they don’t want it to die out and this was a perfect chance to stoke the fires again. After all, being a victim will cover up a multitude of sins and what a handy excuse for people being losers and basically wards of the state. The Sharptons are looking to fill their coffers and in order to do that there needs to be a unhealthy dose of racism injected back into society.

    • I have to say you are missing the point. You say “racism” as if it must mean white racism. But no, it is BLACK racism that instigated the arrest and trial of George Zimmerman, and now drives the negative reaction to the not-guilty verdict. It is BLACK racism that has been coddled and nurtured for the last 50 years, and is now deemed so morally correct that “creepy ass cracka” is just “the way we (blacks) talk”, not racist. From your words, it is clear to me that everyone needs to widen their definition of racism to include that which has become sacrosanct: black racism–like Harry Potter’s “Voldemart”, That Which Must Not Be Named. Wake up and shrug off the politically correct delusion.

      • Gamecock says:

        Well said, sir.

      • DarrylB says:

As I mentioned before, I hate political correctness, I appreciate heartfelt honesty.
Some of my friends who are honest, sincere, caring, hardworking and black are people who are the most disgusted with the lack of accepting responsibility and lack of effort by others of the same heritage. It hurts them, and they try to make changes where they can. –not very easy.
People will never take pride in America and in themselves unless they feel they have contributed in some way, no matter now meager that may be.
My Wife and I have been foster and adoptive parents to special needs children.
Sometimes we have needed assistance, but in the end, and in some cases, after decades, most every one can be a contributing member of society and when they are, they always have a sense of pride.
Even the thought of committing a crime would diminish what they have. (Although, along the way there are definite valleys)
As long as I am meandering and talking about myself, I will say that being foster and adoptive parents is our pro-life statement.

  13. Needs to be changed:

“…We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives in the City of Chicago on a daily basis…”

They’re only ignoring the gun violence in Chicago because none of the shooters are white. Either that, or they’re not using assault weapons with high capacity magazines.

    • Gail Combs says:

It is not gun violence if it is a black shooting a white/Latino or a black shooting a black. It is only gun violence when the gun is in the hands of a white (or a white Latino****)

**** New definition after Obummers handlers realized their OOPS moment in not checking what race Zimmerman actually was before making him an election campaign poster boy. Zimmerman was of mixed race – black, Latino & white, but that didn’t stop the propaganda machine from hanging him anyway.

  17. Observer says:

Facts that no one followed. 45Min to get to store and back. Should take 7-10. Rainey nasty night. Why? 4 min to go less than 40 yds. Scared could of gone directly home in seconds. . Girlfriend stated after Martin talked about Zimmerman’s. Truck. ARE YOU GOING TO” TAKE” THAT TO.?? She never said his response to that question. Martin was looking for a score!. Nasty night made for slim pickings. Then came George,George was IT! His mugging victim. But the gun saved George. Check Martins past, bad boy all the way.
