There is no comparison between the present solar cycle (SC24) and SC14 of the beginning of the XX century.
SC14 had many spikes consistently throughout the cycle, while the present one is rather calm (by comparison) and showing a trend to decrease after the maximum of 2011,

The hot temperatures of the beginning of the last century and the 1930’s and 1940’s can be “explained” based on solar forcing and true/honest climate models (which will someday- hopefully- replace the present fraud of NASA/GISS)

      • Phil Jones says:

Right… That’s the point… Factors other than CO2 pouring out of a tailpipe are what drive The Climate on Earth.

From what I’ve read, so-called Climate Scientists and Journalists won’t even talk about the Sun as a factor… It has to be man-made CO2… Well I tell ya what, it wasn’t the V8 engine that placed mile high glaciers over what is today’s Canada…

Warmists have a huge blind spot when it comes to this mysterious object we call “the Sun”…

  3. Andy Oz says:

Shock news: Queensland experiences global warming Heatwave on January 3, 1946.
Every country town in Qld over 100 degrees and top of 112 deg.

  6. TheJollyGreenMan says:

    Hi Steven,

I live near Cambridgeshire and can report that the tips of my daffodils are just clearing the ground. I planted a gross last year and am expecting a nice show later on this year.

  7. Andy Oz says:

    30 December 1904- “Bourke (NSW) has seen 127 deg ” (52.8 C)

Conveniently lost from the BOM data record.

  8. edward1968 says:

That’s okay. Since global warming is the absolute truth we can just add lower temperature readings that don’t exist from other parts of the UK until the average goes down lower.

    It’s not cheating, it’s science.

  9. gator69 says:

We are having the coldest weather in fifteen years right now, and will be lucky to get above zero on Monday.

Got to LOVE Drudge right this moment.

  10. Andy DC says:

Alarmists like to say “weather is not the same as it used to be.” Not only the same, but same over and over during the course of years.

-11 this morning in my little piece of heaven in central Indiana. High to forecast to be 17 deg. today. Monday high forecast to be -14 with a low of -17.

But as we know there could be changes to that forecast AND to the actual recorded temps that occurred.

  12. Don Penim says:

    Weather. It can be brutal.

    On this date – January 3, 1947:
An F4 tornado killed 57 and injured 435 at Warren, Arkansas.
It destroyed the entire town, damage at that time was over $1.3 million.

  13. nomoregore says:

It is a beautiful 38 degrees in my part of the Northwest. Along the coast here we’re often spared the arctic intrusion that slams the rest of the country.

  14. Bob Greene says:

Remember, no matter how many times it may have happened, it is unprecedented if it happens now.

  16. Phil Jones says:

Over at Huffington Post their answer to this deep freeze is to simply NOT report it in terms of Global Warming… While pushing this claim that somehow 2013 was the 6th hottest year on record…

    Bats dying by thousands…

any links to this occurring in the 1930s or 1940s?
