Your comment made me try to think of much earlier quotes in a similar vein, since the problem is as old as civilization. I thought of Robespierrre, Machiavelli, and others, finally going back to the Judges of Israel (which they gave up to have Kings–out of the frying pan into the fire). In a minute or so, I had just decided to respond with “…or with the people who judge the votes (remember the Supreme Court election of 2000)”, when I realized it goes further, to “the people who rule at the time of the election”. The whole point of the American Revolution was to inaugurate a better way than rule by the few, for the few. Now the no doubt well-intentioned Insane Left are throwing that away just to beat the Right.
Hope and change, spreading the wealth, too big to fail and “climate change is the biggest problem humanity ever faced” is all Commie Propaganda Bull Shit.
