Zeke just can’t grasp what he is doing wrong. Around 1990, USHCN started losing a lot of mainly rural stations. Using their clever infilling and gridding, they turned those disappearing stations into urban stations – which created a huge spurious warming trend.
Zeke likes the meaningless green line.
See the graph below. Essentially all of the warming since 1990 is due to fabricated (no underlying temperature records) data shown below in green – which strongly hints at cooler rural stations being lost, and their missing data being replaced by infilled urban data.
This is so blatantly obvious, that only a temperature expert couldn’t grasp it.
It is like dealing with anomaly/infilling/gridding zombies. Do they actually think that their large spike in temperatures after 1990, coinciding with their large spike in lost (mainly rural) stations – was coincidence?
If you lose a cool rural station and replace the data with that from a warm urban station, it raises your average temperature. Now repeat over and over again several hundred times since 1990.
In the next graph, I normalized Zekes data properly, and highlighted the period of rapid station loss in blue. The huge spike in temperatures in the green line is due to garbage data handling practices, not warming.
Just say no to data tampering. This nonsense has to come to an end.
The middle graph on “adjustments” is what seals the deal- thanks for making everyone face the music.

All of that added up to a big heap of confirmation bias, I was so used to Goddard being wrong, I expected it again, but this time Steve Goddard was right and my confirmation bias prevented me from seeing that there was in fact a real issue in the data and that NCDC has dead stations that are reporting data that isn’t real: mea culpa.
Logically if I was right about this, it follows that I must have been wrong the other times.

I see WUWT admits you are right, but even then AW had to claim you were wrong about a lot of other things that I don’t think you were wrong on. I remember some of those episodes and AW just don’t seem to comprehend what you are talking about sometimes.

Ric Werme. Its not only Goddard here that was right. WUWT and others (Curry, Spencer, Carter, Dyson, Mcyntyre ect) have shown this. He just hammered the nail that had to be hammered..

if the people doing this work are true scientists ,they will be be asking questions of themselves they never thought of before. the reaction of the climate science community will be interesting to watch.will it be “we must strive to correct errors in the papers ” or will it be “well it does not make any difference anyway” .
Eliza, the hitting nails is one thing, getting things fixed is another. That takes a bit more finesse, but it appears to be happening.
In the end, it will be a good group effort, despite the unfortunate breakdown in the beginning. It’ll be an interesting week, as long as the people who need to act aren’t on vacation.
Of course, “getting things fixed” has nothing to do with restoring credibility.
Loss of credibility is not easily “fixed”.
(That’s why censorship is so important–it covers up the lack of credibility.)

Skeptics need to stop fighting with Skeptics … Instead let’s demand someone from NOAA or NASA or even Mike Mann himself explain this… I don’t see Alarmists beating each other up… Instead they pat each other on the back, commend, praise each other… and try to one up on outlandish predictions!!

I would also suspect that the raw data as graphed by Heller is also greatly influenced by siting issues identified by Watts adding more warming bias to the record.
