Today Bob Livingston explained why Justice Cannot Sleep Forever.”

    https://personalliberty.com/justice-sleep-forever/

The story begins with a beautiful depiction of:

    1. Genesis: The supernova birth of the solar system five billion years (5 Ga) ago, when the Sun exploded as a ball of light, and

    2. Element Synthesis: Guided by a conscious and intelligent Mind that “brings the particles of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together.”

The quote is from Nobel Laureate Max Planck’s 1944 speech on the nature of matter:

“There is no matter as such! All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particles of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together … We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind. This Mind is the matrix of all matter.”

See reference [52] in the paper, “Solar energy.”

    My comment:

Let’s see, on global warming we’ve had record cold for weeks on end and several feet of snow across wide swathes of the country, despite the 2000 warmist refrain: “snow in just a few years will be a thing of the past.” We’ve had 18 years of no rise at all in temperatures (according the most reliable and untampered with satellite data), record Antarctic ice, record increases in Arctic ice. Or record high levels of Great Lakes ice, right now!! This is not the type of thing we should see after a supposed century of runaway hockey stick style warming.

And ALL the doomsayers dire predictions have not come true. Their predictions … have not come even close to reflecting reality. Every single one of their shameless fear mongering predictions have failed, miserably. Like the oceans haven’t risen but tiny fractions of an inch in decades, but we have had this and many similar predictions from the leftist Chicken Littles:

Entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000. Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of eco-refugees, threatening political chaos.” -Noel Brown, ex UNEP Director, 1989

Which leads me to this, from the FR thread:

    Disconfirmed expectancy

Disconfirmed expectancy is a psychological term for what is commonly known as a failed prophecy. According to the American social psychologist Leon Festinger’s theory of cognitive dissonance, disconfirmed expectancies create a state of psychological discomfort because the outcome contradicts expectancy. Upon recognizing the falsification of an expected event an individual will experience the competing cognitions, “I believe [X],” and, “I observed [Y].” The individual must either discard the now disconfirmed belief or justify why it has not actually been disconfirmed…

Eric, I tried to register during open registration at HotAir and got nowhere.

      I did noticed this comment:

And your claim, Mr. Morrissey, of a “stable” climate is simply not borne out by the totality of the evidence: massive net loss of global ice, three record global yearly records set since 2005, … Increasing severity of cold events in certain locations is entirely consistent with the “change” that scientists have long predicted, Mr. Morrissey (yes, “change” in “climate change” still means what it always does).

You might remind oakland that a thermal (warm) pulse such as LEAP during the bitter end of the Eemain is also entirely consistent with the “change” to glaciation. The Eemian, actually had two thermal pulses before the Big Drop and the earth is now exiting that second thermal pulse.

By calculations the earth is a couple centuries over due for glaciation. The Ruddiman “Early Anthropogenic Hypothesis” says that all that has kept the earth out of glaciation is man’s changes to the environment. Even Joe Romm at one time agreed with this.

A model [Loutre and Berger, 2003] suggesting the Holocene might go long as MIS 11 did was soundly trounced by observational evidence. Nothing else has come along in Quaternary Science to refute Lisiecki and Raymo 2005.

      Lisiecki & Raymo
      ABSTRACT
We present a 5.3-Myr stack (the ‘‘LR04’’ stack) of benthic d18O records from 57 globally distributed sites aligned by an automated graphic correlation algorithm. This is the first benthic d18O stack composed of more than three records to extend beyond 850 ka,…

      RESULTS
Recent research has focused on MIS 11 as a possible analog for the present interglacial [e.g., Loutre and Berger, 2003; EPICA Community Members, 2004] because both occur during times of low eccentricity…. However, the 21 June insolation minimum at 65°N during MIS 11 is only 489 W/m2, much less pronounced than the present minimum of 474 W/m2. In addition, current insolation values are not predicted to return to the high values of late MIS 11 for another 65 kyr. We propose that this effectively precludes a ‘‘double precession cycle’’ interglacial [e.g., Raymo, 1997] in the Holocene without human influence….

And you want to strip the earth of the CO2 security blanket that might be all that is keeping the earth out of the next ice age? Especially when according to other papers C3 plants (95% of the plant species) undergo CO2 starvation when the earth is in the glaciation phase of the Milankovitch Cycle?

  5. emsnews says:

Hey, how about a snowball fight in Congress? The global warmists show up with no snow balls because they don’t exist anymore and everyone else gets to arm themselves with the real thing!

This has to be televised, of course, for our amusement.

  6. hell_is_like_newark says:

Pointing out the busted past predictions doesn’t seem to change the minds of so many people. Now it’s “climate disruption! Warming causes massive snow storms and {insert your favorite weather boogie man here}!”.

This sort of reminds me of the one chapter in Orwell’s ‘1984’ where whomever Oceana was at war with at the time suddenly switches. Posters depicting the enemy were ripped down and rapidly replaced. The public went on, believing the ‘new’ enemy was the one they were really fighting the whole time.

Outlets like Thinkprogress are the “Ministry of Truth” spewing out absolute BS. Reading the comments is depressing because so many people accept what is written without question.

  7. rachase says:

Interesting (perhaps) to ponder the explanation I heard on tv ( I just happened to catch the very end summary) by some climatologist who explained that the current very cold spells we are having are the result of waves of cold arctic air entrained in the jet stream that is being pushied south into the US, driven by the warming climate of the polar region as evidenced by the unprecedented loss of arctic ice. Since I only heard the tail end wrap up, I can only wonder how (or if) he explained how the warming polar region is sending waves of frigid air south with the jet stream..

  8. rah says:

“unprecedented loss of arctic ice.” That statement right now marks who ever said it as either misinformed or a liar.
