Chaos And Breakdown Of Society Matters

ScreenHunter_1635 Apr. 26 08.23

I was next door to this restaurant two weeks ago for the American Physical Society meeting at the Hilton Hotel. Later that week I was likely shot at riding my bike to the gym in Columbia, and two days later was harassed by gang members riding home from Whole Foods. Columbia never used to be like that. People used to get along extremely well.

This has little or nothing to do with anger at the police. It is organized race baiting and civil disorder coming from the White House and DOJ – which has been going on for six years. The intent is to create chaos and break down civil society.

Good quote! I know that a lot of people say “never attribute to malice what may be simple stupidity” — but there is a limit to that. The first time someone does something bad, you figure that maybe it is just a mistake. The second time, maybe it is ignorance… But somewhere about the third time, you really need to consider whether there is enough of a pattern to say “this $#%@ is doing this stuff on purpose!”

In the case of the unfortunately high-jacked civil rights movement we now have a half century of increasing unemployment, increasing out-of-wedlock births and increasing failure to read and write. This pattern is not a simple mistake. SOMEONE is doing their best to keep people in strife, in ignorance, and in poverty. SOMEONE just loves class warfare.

If Mitt Romney had been elected and appointed two Attorneys General who both happened to be Mormon, there would have been an outcry of favoritism.

But the racialists running the country are above such petty concerns, they will appoint people based primarily on their race with impunity. The least they could have done was appoint a token white person to serve out the last year and a half to keep up the pretense that they aren’t overt racialists.

I wonder how much Soros has spent this time.

In all, Mr. Soros gave at least $33 million in one year to support already-established groups that emboldened the grass-roots, on-the-ground activists in Ferguson, according to the most recent tax filings of his nonprofit Open Society Foundations.

Not to mention the SEIU, Obama’s favorite union and the National Action Network with Al Sharpton. There are even connections through Elijah Muhammad of the Nation of Islam. Then probably money came from the Tides Foundation

If you are wondering how all those same faces pop up in various parts of the country, Baltimore lately, that’s buses and drivers provided by the SEIU. In other words, for some of the protestors this is a paid full-time job.

        • Gail Combs says:

And the Rockefellers, Fords, Carnegie. Gates and the Fannie Mae Foundation?!?…. Any of the Elite and their foundations where they want to break-up the money trail.

The California-based activist Drummond Pike established the Tides Foundation in 1976, naming it aftera Sausalito bookstore that catered to a leftist readership. The Foundation was set up as a public charity that receives money from donors and then funnels it to the recipients of their choice. Because many of these recipient groups are quite radical, the donors often prefer not to have their names publicly linked with the donees. By letting the Tides Foundation, in effect, “launder” the money for them and pass it along to the intended beneficiaries, donors can avoid leaving a “paper trail.” Such contributions are called “donor-advised,” or donor-directed, funds.

Through this legal loophole, nonprofit entities can also create for-profit organizations and then funnel money to them through Tides — thereby circumventing the laws that bar nonprofits from directly funding their own for-profit enterprises. Pew Charitable Trusts, for instance, set up three for-profit media companies and then proceeded to fund them via donor-advised contributions to Tides, which (for an 8 percent management fee) in turn sent the money to the media companies…..

IBM and the Holocaust is the stunning story of IBM’s strategic alliance with Nazi Germany — beginning in 1933 in the first weeks that Hitler came to power and continuing well into World War II. As the Third Reich embarked upon its plan of conquest and genocide, IBM and its subsidiaries helped create enabling technologies, step-by-step, from the identification and cataloging programs of the 1930s to the selections of the 1940s.

Only after Jews were identified — a massive and complex task that Hitler wanted done immediately — could they be targeted for efficient asset confiscation, ghettoization, deportation, enslaved labor, and, ultimately, annihilation. It was a cross-tabulation and organizational challenge so monumental, it called for a computer. Of course, in the 1930s no computer existed.

But IBM’s Hollerith punch card technology did exist. Aided by the company’s custom-designed and constantly updated Hollerith systems, Hitler was able to automate his persecution of the Jews. Historians have always been amazed at the speed and accuracy with which the Nazis were able to identify and locate European Jewry. Until now, the pieces of this puzzle have never been fully assembled. The fact is, IBM technology was used to organize nearly everything in Germany and then Nazi Europe, from the identification of the Jews in censuses, registrations, and ancestral tracing programs to the running of railroads and organizing of concentration camp slave labor.

IBM and its German subsidiary custom-designed complex solutions, one by one, anticipating the Reich’s needs. They did not merely sell the machines and walk away. Instead, IBM leased these machines for high fees and became the sole source of the billions of punch cards Hitler needed.

IBM and the Holocaust takes you through the carefully crafted corporate collusion with the Third Reich, as well as the structured deniability of oral agreements, undated letters, and the Geneva intermediaries — all undertaken as the newspapers blazed with accounts of persecution and destruction.

Just as compelling is the human drama of one of our century’s greatest minds, IBM founder Thomas Watson, who cooperated with the Nazis for the sake of profit.

Only with IBM’s technologic assistance was Hitler able to achieve the staggering numbers of the Holocaust. Edwin Black has now uncovered one of the last great mysteries of Germany’s war against the Jews — how did Hitler get the names?

If we do intervene, civil unrest gives and excuse to jump straight to a Totalitarian dictatorship.

We are set-up for civil unrest in all cases. Either the inner cities erupt into violence and end up like Detroit ===> martial law & a totalitarian dictatorship.

Or we water the Tree of Liberty and as Kent Clizbe said quoting William R. Russell,

…. Try to break down the democratic processes from within. Accustom the people to picketing, strikes, mass meetings. Constantly attack the leaders in every way possible so that the people will lose confidence. Then in time of national peril, during a war, on the occasion of a great disaster, or of a general strike, walk into the capital and seize the power. A well-organized minority can work wonders.

        • Jason Calley says:

Hey Gail, you make some good points — and I had not read that about Soros.

In large part, the dilemma we face today is a result of being too “civilized.” We are programmed from youth (mostly via public schools) to not make waves, to stand up when the bell rings and to sit down when the next bell rings, to fit in, to never hit back, to let your teacher handle problems and most of all, always, to obey authorities, even when they are wrong. That is the mind-set of passive cattle, not of free people. And so, every year we put up with a little more regulation, a little more control and a little less freedom.

This is not going to end gracefully or easily.

  13. Thom says:

One of the downsides to “democracy” (unrestrained) is its lack of accountability. Essentially no one is ever responsible for the harm that which government does in a “democracy”. A majority will always vote to shield itself mostly from the effects of its actions and thrust the burden its actions create onto a minority. The failures of government plans and predictions in effect become a call for government to fix that which it created in the first place which feeds above. When this situation rises to a certain level it is not rare for government to invent distractions or crisis to divert attention away from its failures. When government and rent seeking fascists align to manufacture ways to grow government and enrich those that support such a manufactured crisis is not far behind when the “data” goes against the phony science that Mother Nature isn’t apparently playing along with. When people start suppressing debate, censoring words of others, manipulating the “raw” data and outright lying to protect their vested interests in the name of “science” they are in effect doing the greatest disservice to “science” and lowering it to the role of the little boy who cried wolf repeatedly until no one listened and then the Big Bad Wolf showed up and no one would save the Little Boy from himself. “Science” will be a loser out of this if those dedicated to the scientific method don’t take a stand on the side of real science. If academia were held to the same standards of fraud the private sector is some notables would be in prison. If there were real world consequence for making polices based on predictions that can’t stand up to the scientific method level of proof there would be a lot less people in the prediction business. None of the Weather Services can get within 3 degrees of the daily highs and lows on any given day. Forget precipitation percentages and all this is off live data and decades of weather modeling. Why does anyone think predicting the number of cyclones has any value in the real world?

Lots of manufactured crisis in the news lately. Rent-a-Mobs can be bought cheaply.

    • Gail Combs says:

      Thom,

The USA was set up as a Republic to get around the problems of a democracy. The House was to represent the people and the Senate was to represent the will of each state and thereby provide a check on the Federal Government becoming too powerful.

      All that ended in 1913.
      1. A national bank that controlled the US currency and printed fiat (worthless bank script) was established.

      2. A national tax was established. This was to pay back in real wealth the worthless bankscript the banksters loaned the government. ( 16th Amendment, March 15, 1913)

      3. Senators were changed from being picked by the legislature of each state to popular vote. ( 17th Amendment, April 8, 1913.)

Note that as soon as the banksters had gained control of the US money supply (December 23 1913) they created a world war (28 July 28, 1914) and ran up the debt. We have been paying them ever since and they have about sucked this country dry. That is why they are now willing to collapse the country. They have moved the hard assets to China, Brazil and India.

  14. It was more than likely organized by Soros. You have people that sincerely are angry easily trip into his trap, organized looters and followers. Yesterday I searched out and found that there was a Clinton Bush Haiti Foundation, Soros involved too. Why the people of Haiti were begging for assistance, Clinton held up with the dole. Quite similar to Sandy Storm and Christies foundation, victims are still waiting. The outbursts are just a planned distraction.

      ……

Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, in his testimony to Congress on MAY 8, 2014 stated:

Natural EMP from a geomagnetic super-storm like the 1859 Carrington Event or the 1921 Railroad Storm, a nuclear EMP attack from terrorists or rogue states as practiced by North Korea during the nuclear crisis of 2013 are both existential threats that could kill 9 of 10 Americans through starvation, disease, and societal collapse.….
      (wwwDoT)gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CHRG-113hhrg89763/pdf/CHRG-113hhrg89763.pdf

      (Also see http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/authors/detail/peter-vincent-pry )

Dr. Pry talked of the loss 0f 90% of the US Population due to an external threat to our electric grid and electronic equipment. But what about the US government forcing the closing of our power plants?

#1. Nuclear — In 2007, nuclear power accounted for 19 percent of the electricity generated. if all 38 units at risk are retired, about one-third of our nuclear fleet will also be shut down. Worse no new facilities have been build since the 1970s to replace those reaching retirement age. So say good by to 6% of our CHEAP base load power.

#2. Hydro – Wild & Scenic Rivers Act of 196 amnended 2012 means the USA is destroying dams not building them. As of 2013 hydro only supplied seven percent.

#3. Coal — Coal used to supply 42% of the power to the grid. In 2011, there were 1,387 coal-fired generators in the United States, totaling almost 318 gigawatts. As of 2012 owners and operators reported to the EPA they expect to retire about 27 gigawatts of coal-fired capacity by 2016, 8.5 percent of total coal-fired capacity. That has since been update to 34.7 GW of electrical generating capacity will close or 11% of our baseload capacity.
When the EPA made the Mercury ruling their modeling of Utility MACT and CSAPR indicates that these regulations will only shutter 9.5 GW of electricity generation capacity.….

      But it gets worse.
The regs will also close the rest of the plants for 18 months for retro-fitting and that takes out another 1/3 to a half of the remaining plants during the three year retrofit period….

… NERC estimates that nearly a quarter of our coal-fired capacity could be off-line by 2018 and that as many as 677 coal-fired units (258 gigawatts) would need to be temporarily shut down to install EPA-mandated equipment.[ii] These EPA regulations must be implemented within a 3-year window and the mandated equipment takes about 18 months to install. Because EPA’s three year timeline is so tight and the regulations affect so many units, utility companies are not sure that they can meet the standards and ensure reliability of the electricity system at the same time….
      (wwwDOT)instituteforenergyresearch.org/2012/08/01/generating-companies-are-shuttering-coal-plants-at-record-rates-eia-reports/

So that is another 40.6 % of the coal shut down for at least three years – a total of 51% of our coal power or 21% of our base load capacity will close.

So between coal and nuclear we could see up to one third of our power shut down for three years. Gas, solar and wind are supposed to replace this power but as we all know the Anti-everything Activists have tossed a hissy fit and stopped or slowed down everything.

To keep the grid stable (Wind and Solar DESTABILIZE THE GRID) electric companies will use ‘smart meters’ to shut down residential and small business electricity with ‘rolling blackouts’ so factories and government can have a constant supply of power.

The big problem with Wind and Solar is it can not provide reliable baseload power to the grid. The other problem is that the baseload loss is not evenly spread across the USA. For example coal fuels 78 percent of Ohio’s electric generation and Ohio ranks third in manufacturing employment. Ohio had 119 coal-fired generating units at 35 locations, with 23,825 MW of capacity so if 6,600 megawatts of electric generating capacity were to be shut down by the EPA it would be about one third. That means Ohio wil not only see a lot of blackout it will also see electric prices skyrocket.

      Energy Prices to Soon Skyrocket

Obama’s war on coal hits your electric bill
The market-clearing price for new 2015 capacity – almost all natural gas – was $136 per megawatt. That’s eight times higher than the price for 2012, which was just $16 per megawatt. In the mid-Atlantic area covering New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and DC the new price is $167 per megawatt. For the northern Ohio territory served by FirstEnergy, the price is a shocking $357 per megawatt…. These are not computer models or projections or estimates. These are the actual prices that electric distributors have agreed to pay for new capacity. The costs will be passed on to consumers at the retail level.

He was in Russia soon after the Bolsheviks seized power and spent considerable time there, working on Creel propaganda against the Germans, for the Bolsheviks, and later against the Bolsheviks. Russell described how he saw the communist tradecraft:

The way they worked their way to the seizure of power was as follows: Talk about peace, talk about social equality, especially among those most oppressed. Talk about organization of labor, and penetrate into every labor union. Talk on soapboxes. Publish pamphlets and papers. Orate and harangue. Play on envy. Arouse jealousy. Separate class from class.

“So that is another 40.6 % of the coal shut down for at least three years”

Unless a retrofit takes exactly 3 years (why assume that ?) AND there is enough engineering resources to simultaneously shut down that many plants and work on them all at the same time……. “So that is another 40.6 % of the coal shut down for at least three years” seems to be like the worst possible interpretation of events.

How long does a retrofit take ? 2 or 3 months max ? (you tell me…)
By cycling through the required work ,another way to look at this is to say that a maximum of 10% and probably less will be off line at any time…….that option is there

40.6% within three years is merely a statement of work volume and deadline…..it does not mean that all 40.6% will have to be off line for exactly 3 years…..

In the next five years every lightbulb in my home.needs to be replaced
This does not mean that every lightbulb will be out of service for the next 5 years and therefore my home will be without electric light for the next five years…..

        • Gail Combs says:

How long does a retrofit take ? 2 or 3 months max ? (you tell me…)
” the mandated equipment takes about 18 months to install.” and the EPA has given the power companies 3 years to install the equipment.

          18 + 18 = 36

So half of the operating plants that do not have the equipment to meet the EPA mandates have to go down at a time. That remove 1/3 to 1/2 of the remaining units for three years.

…The North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s (NERC) most recent long-term assessment found that existing and proposed environmental regulations affecting fossil fuel plants in the United States may significantly affect bulk power system reliability.

NERC, the nation’s leading authority on electric reliability, evaluated four major regulations now being proposed or implemented by the Environmental Protection Agency and found them to expose the United States to significant energy vulnerabilities. NERC estimates that nearly a quarter of our coal-fired capacity could be off-line by 2018 and that as many as 677 coal-fired units (258 gigawatts) would need to be temporarily shut down to install EPA-mandated equipment.[ii] These EPA regulations must be implemented within a 3-year window and the mandated equipment takes about 18 months to install. Because EPA’s three year timeline is so tight and the regulations affect so many units, utility companies are not sure that they can meet the standards and ensure reliability of the electricity system at the same time.

          Who is NERC?

The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) is a not-for-profit international regulatory authority whose mission is to assure the reliability of the bulk power system in North America. NERC develops and enforces Reliability Standards; annually assesses seasonal and long?term reliability; monitors the bulk power system through system awareness; and educates, trains, and certifies industry personnel. NERC’s area of responsibility spans the continental United States, Canada, and the northern portion of Baja California, Mexico. NERC is the electric reliability organization for North America, subject to oversight by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and governmental authorities in Canada. NERC’s jurisdiction includes users, owners, and operators of the bulk power system, which serves more than 334 million people.

I was on the back deck on the third floor of my place which had a view of almost all of NYC back then. I saw the lightning strike that hit the power plant which exploded. I yelled to my husband to get the flashlight as I watched on part then another of the city black out in succession.

There was laughter and some yelling when the whole of Brooklyn went dark. Then the housing projects nearby EMPTIED OUT RAPIDLY and the sound of breaking glass began.

I decided it was time to protect the property. I was the super of the building, after all, I locked everything up and moved the younger children downstairs into my apartment at the top.

        Then the fires began.

“We are going to die!’ I thought. I went on the roof with a hose to keep it wet as burning embers flew overhead. Fires sprang up all over the place. The neighborhoods that were looted and burned remained hell holes for years and years later.

The one near my house I decided to colonize and forced the city to begin handing over abandoned properties that were burned shells to friends of mine who wanted to develop these. It was a huge battle getting permission to take a burned husk and turn it into a gentrified neighborhood that is a pleasure to live in. I was called every name in the book by Al Sharpton who attacked me directly, himself.

Agreed it is offensive. Logically, though, it is “irrelevant”. Either “lives matter”, Period, or “some politically sanctioned lives matter more than others”, period. What is “offensive” to me is that the Media and Politicians are so very, very selective in their outrage. Racist Democrats never seem to be “equal” to others. To Wit: The basis of all slavery in America can be traced back to a court case in 1655 wherein Mr. Anthony Johnson, a black man from Angola sued for legal, perpetual, custody, of his black servant, John Casor. See: http://blackinamerica.com/content/272507/anthony-johnson-the-first-black-slave-master

All and every descendent of Mr. Johnson owes “reparations” to whatever surviving progeny of Mr. Casor might remain. How intriguing that blacks might owe blacks payments for being slaves of blacks. Certainly, this must become part and parcel of such reparation discussions as Mssrs Obama and Holder seem to think rational and lawful. Otherwise, it would descend into racist manipulation of the People for political power which would be an impeachable offence for any elected official. 🙂

        • gator69 says:

According to colonial records, the first slave owner in the United States was a black man.

Prior to 1655 there were no legal slaves in the colonies, only indentured servants. All masters were required to free their servants after their time was up. Seven years was the limit that an indentured servant could be held. Upon their release they were granted 50 acres of land. This included any Negro purchased from slave traders. Negros were also granted 50 acres upon their release.

Anthony Johnson was a Negro from modern-day Angola. He was brought to the US to work on a tobacco farm in 1619. In 1622 he was almost killed when Powhatan Indians attacked the farm. 52 out of 57 people on the farm perished in the attack. He married a female black servant while working on the farm.

When Anthony was released he was legally recognized as a “free Negro” and ran a successful farm. In 1651 he held 250 acres and five black indentured servants. In 1654, it was time for Anthony to release John Casor, a black indentured servant. Instead Anthony told Casor he was extending his time. Casor left and became employed by the free white man Robert Parker.

Anthony Johnson sued Robert Parker in the Northampton Court in 1654. In 1655, the court ruled that Anthony Johnson could hold John Casor indefinitely. The court gave judicial sanction for blacks to own slave of their own race. Thus Casor became the first permanent slave and Johnson the first slave owner.

Whites still could not legally hold a black servant as an indefinite slave until 1670. In that year, the colonial assembly passed legislation permitting free whites, blacks, and Indians the right to own blacks as slaves.

By 1699, the number of free blacks prompted fears of a “Negro insurrection.” Virginia Colonial ordered the repatriation of freed blacks back to Africa.

Many blacks sold themselves to white masters so they would not have to go to Africa. This was the first effort to gently repatriate free blacks back to Africa. The modern nations of Sierra Leone and Liberia both originated as colonies of repatriated former black slaves.
However, black slave owners continued to thrive in the United States.

By 1830 there were 3,775 black families living in the South who owned black slaves. By 1860 there were about 3,000 slaves owned by black households in the city of New Orleans alone.

Most people are shocked to learn that slavery was not a white monopoly.

ENSO-adjusted warming in the three surface temperature datasets over the last 2–25 yr continually lies within the 90% range of all similar-length ENSO-adjusted temperature changes in these simulations (Fig. 2.8b). Near-zero and even negative trends are common for intervals of a decade or less in the simulations, due to the model’s internal climate variability. The simulations rule out (at the 95% level) zero trends for intervals of 15 yr or more, [Maybe THAT is the 95% the IPCC is now talking about.] suggesting that an observed absence of warming of this duration is needed to create a discrepancy with the expected present-day warming rate.

The issue is that this was a legal precedent established by the court of Northampton VA and recognized by England as binding Law. Certainly, other situations existed extra-legal of defacto slavery, but not legally recognized by a Government. That said, arguments exist that some distinction occurred wherein “slavery didn’t really exist until white people became the owners”, which is a distinction without a difference and serves to this day to justify unjustifiable claims. It may be argued from many sides for many reasons, but the legally binding nature of the recognized decision is not at odds. “Facts are Stubborn things”, John Quincy Adams.

Note that the target of Karl Marx was the middle class who were getting above themselves and threatening the Elite and NOT the Aristocracy.

“The bourgeoisie, wherever it has got the upper hand, has put an end to all feudal, patriarchal, idyllic relations. It has pitilessly torn asunder the motley feudal ties that bound man to his ‘natural superiors,’ and has left remaining no other nexus between man and man than naked self-interest, callous ‘cash payment.’ It has drowned the most heavenly ecstasies of religious fervor, of chivalrous enthusiasm, of philistine sentimentalism, in the icy water of egotistical calculation. It has resolved personal worth into exchange value, and in place of the numberless indefeasible chartered freedoms, has set up that single, unconscionable freedom—Free Trade. In one word, for exploitation, veiled by religious and political illusions, it has substituted naked, shameless, direct, brutal exploitation.

The bourgeoisie has stripped of its halo every occupation hitherto honored and looked up to with reverent awe. It has converted the physician, the lawyer, the priest, the poet, the man of science, into its paid wage laborers.

        • Chris Barron says:

“IMHO, it would be “a” united kingdom, but not “the” United Kingdom.”

That just seems to be an emotional aspect.

As a socioeconomic entitiy the UK (Wales England and N.I.) seems perfectly realistic and capable.

What is odd is that years prior to the independence referendum there was quite a loud voice in England of people who claimed they were fed up of the ‘whinging Scots’ and said they thought if Scotland was so unhappy with England then it should go independent…..but in the immediate run up to the referendum that voice changed to become ‘oh Scotland please don’t leave’

I have to declare my interests in all UK current countries, I was born in Yorkshire where I lived for a few years, then spent a few years of my childhood in Wales (Pontypool), then returned to Yorkshire for most of my youth and moved to Scotland in my early twenties where I have spent over half of my life. I have immediate family in Northern Ireland who we visit a few times a year

About a quarter of the whole of the UK population lives within the London metropolitan district (an area which I have also visited extensively) and although i can’t claim to be an expert, I haven’t exactly lived with my head in my sand in a small town my whole life never venturing anywhere else either, and i know for sure that the ‘gap’ between the London Met district and some of the more remote areas of the UK is huge in terms of the socioeconomic imperatives as well as culture.

The Acts of union of 1706/1707 brought together Scotland and England under some of the most tenuous circumstances one can imagine…In fact on the day the act was signed in Scotland martial law had to be declared to keep control of the overwhelming number of protests. Wales was dragged into it because Wales lacked a separate parliament. Then 1800/1801 Ireland became part of the kingdom too (they weren’t too happy about it in some areas either).

The republic of Ireland repealed the acts, leaving Northern Ireland.

However, the 1800 does declare a United Kingdom and would still be in force to leave a kingdom

It is interesting to note that as I write about kingdoms….i feel like we should be transported back in time to days of Robin Hood, Knights of the realm, Game of Thrones, or some other similar emblem of the times….but lets face it , those days are long gone, we need to be more open minded about our future and I feel that the gap which separates Scotland from London is massive….certainly big enough for it to be a better option that Scotland should determine it’s own political direction and social policies without the current Westminster wing clipping which takes place

It partly represents what Ron Paul calls “corporatism”, or soft fascism. Regulatory agencies control everything in this system, and their favorite multinationals benefit. Smaller companies and individuals do not reap those benefits, or are even punished for their efforts if they do not “play by the rules” or if they are not in the correct business.

(That’s a favorite propaganda message Obama uses a lot -” play by the rules” and you’ll be rewarded. )

Today, green energy endeavors are coddled and showered with our tax dollars, whilst coal is being punished. The free market went away a long time ago. But it is now blatant. The market is being steered by the interests of those at the top (and is purveyed by those at the top, falsely, as being for the interests of those at the bottom). Coal companies are being forced to retrofit to natural gas if they cannot afford to jump through the very expensive, required upgrades to remain in the coal business. Some power plants are closing altogether, because of the impossibly-strict new rules. The math tells us that wind and solar cannot make up these deficits; brown-outs and skyrocketing energy prices are around the corner. Prices cannot remain what they were before all the unnecessary rules which are causing all this major re-shuffling

When prices do rise, to keep those at the bottom happy and deluded, in this fascist system, all kinds of forms of welfare are showered on low income masses to soften the effects of what is happening, as the system continues to rob us of more and more of our liberties. To pay for all this insanity, what our taxes don’t pay, the U.S. government borrows, and the National Debt continues to rise.

        God help us.

Of mergers and acquisitions each costing $1 million or more, there were just 10 in 1970; in 1980, there were 94; in 1986, there were 346. A third of such deals in the 1980’s were hostile. The 1980’s also saw a wave of giant leveraged buyouts. Mergers, acquisitions and L.B.O.’s, which had accounted for less than 5 percent of the profits of Wall Street brokerage houses in 1978, ballooned into an estimated 50 percent of profits by 1988…

THROUGH ALL THIS, THE HISTORIC RELATIONSHIP between product and paper has been turned upside down. Investment bankers no longer think of themselves as working for the corporations with which they do business. These days, corporations seem to exist for the investment bankers….

In fact, investment banks are replacing the publicly held industrial corporations as the largest and most powerful economic institutions in America….

THERE ARE SIGNS THAT A VICIOUS spiral has begun, as each corporate player seeks to improve its standard of living at the expense of another’s.

We find that transnational corporations form a giant bow-tie structure and that a large portion of control flows to a small tightly-knit core of financial institutions. This core can be seen as an economic “super-entity” that raises new important issues both for researchers and policy makers.

Bankers rule the world. A new Swiss Federal Institute of Technology study says so. Written by Stefania Vitali, James Glattfelder and Stefano Battiston, it’s titled “The network of global corporate control,” saying:

“We find that transnational corporations from a giant bow-tie structure and that a large portion of control flows to a small tightly-knit core of financial institutions. This core can be seen as an economic ‘super-entity’ that raises new important issues both for researches and policy makers.”

The study says 147 powerful companies control an inordinate amount of economic activity – about 40%. Among the top 50, 45 are financial firms. They include Barclays PLC (called most influential), JPMorgan Chase, UBS, and other familiar and less known names.

Twenty-four companies are US-based, followed by eight in Britain, five in France, four in Japan, and Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands with two each. Canada has one.

Moreover, “top ranked” companies “hold a control ten times bigger than what could be expected based on their wealth.”

As a result, they have enormous influence over political, financial, and economic activity.

In his book titled, “When Corporations Rule the World,” David Korten said they’re able to transfer enormous amounts of power, wealth and resources from public to private hands with government complicity. Money power and concentrated wealth in few hands especially harm humanity.

“These forces have transformed” financial institutions and other corporate predators “into instruments of a market tyranny that is extending its reach across the planet like a cancer, colonizing ever more of the planet’s living spaces, destroying livelihoods, displacing people, rendering democratic institutions impotent, and feeding on life in an insatiable quest for money” and profits as a be and end all.

Only bottom line priorities and market dominance matter, not human welfare, environmental sanity, peace, equity and justice.

Transnational giants are the dominant institution of our time – especially financial ones with money power control of everything.

They decide who governs and how, who serves on courts, what laws are enacted, and whether or not wars are waged. Corporate dominance, especially financial power, and democratic values are incompatible.

They operate ruthlessly as private tyrannies. They’re predators. We’re prey, and every day we’re eaten alive. They do it because they can, and in America by mandate.

Publicly owned US corporations, including financial ones, must serve shareholders by maximizing equity value through higher profits. They do it by exploiting nations, people and resources ruthlessly.

Social responsibility doesn’t matter. Neither does being worker-friendly, a good citizen, or friend of the earth. Bottom line priorities alone matter. Failure to pursue fiduciary responsibilities means possible dismissal or shareholder lawsuits…..
