In 1988, Susanna Hoffs asked if the heat was an eternal flame.

James Hansen testified before Congress that summer, sabotaged the air conditioner, and said that it was.

1988 was the last hot summer in much of the US, where hot days have nearly disappeared over the past 80 years.

But unlike Hansen, Susanna is still hot at as she approaches 60.

One of the Bangles babes. Good to see she still ‘has it’. Climate problems? What climate problems?

Their past forecasts are laughable. Why would anyone believe a word they say?

    • Revisionism. Wirth made it very clear that they disabled the A/C unit.

Oh be for real! Leftists never revise history.

        Just for you Tony…

In a famous scene in the Wizard of Oz, the little dog Toto unexpectedly pulls back a curtain hiding the “great and powerful” wizard. Stunned by his discovery, the wizard initially warns Dorothy and her friends to “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.” But Dorothy is not fooled, and accuses Oz of being “a humbug.”

The College Board and the nine high school teachers and college professors who wrote its redesigned Advanced Placement U.S. History (APUSH) curriculum framework have been behaving much like the Wizard of Oz. They have claimed to be so great and powerful they can unilaterally supersede state U.S. history standards. When critics objected, the College Board, like Oz, imperiously dismissed them, saying, in effect, “Go away and come back tomorrow.”

I’ve always felt there was something to it but just cannot prove it. they lie so often its hard to tell if their jokes are a lie or not. was he lying when he first said it or as he lying when said it was joke?
        hell, prob lying both times.
whats really sort of sealed it for me was the time it took to refute it after letting it go so long.
sort of OT but pretty sad state of affairs that we (as a whole, not me personally) are somewhat ok with politicians and their staff lying to us.
really makes the blood boil…that is manmade warming LOL

Timothy Wirth admitted the whole thing was planned, staged, and manipulated. He sat down with PBS and talked about it. He was proud, practically bragging about the hot and sticky coup they pulled off that day, grinning as he told the story – no shame.

1.) Scheduled the hearing for the historically hottest day of the summer:

Wirth: “Believe it or not, we called the Weather Bureau and found out what historically was the hottest day of the summer. Well, it was June 6 or June 9 or whatever it was, so we scheduled the hearing that day, and bingo: It was the hottest day on record in Washington, or close to it. It was stiflingly hot that summer. [At] the same time you had this drought all across the country, so the linkage between the Hansen hearing and the drought became very intense.”

    2) Overwhelming the A/C system:

Q: “And did you also alter the temperature in the hearing room that day?”

Wirth: “… What we did it was went in the night before and opened all the windows, I will admit, right? So that the air conditioning wasn’t working inside the room and so when the, when the hearing occurred there was not only bliss, which is television cameras in double figures, but it was really hot. …

So Hansen’s giving this testimony, you’ve got these television cameras back there heating up the room, and the air conditioning in the room didn’t appear to work. So it was sort of a perfect collection of events that happened that day, with the wonderful Jim Hansen, who was wiping his brow at the witness table and giving this remarkable testimony. …”

Oops. I meant this to go under dmacleo’s post.

Wirth’s choice of wording are very telling. Scheduling it for the traditionally hottest day of the summer, opening up the windows the night before to overwhelm the A/C system, all the hot TV cameras and lights, and Hansen wiping his brow – all culminated to being, “the perfect collection of events that happened that day”. Wirth said, there was “bliss”.

He was practically giddy about the staging sham they pulled off.

      • dmacleo says:

yeah that bliss line always bugged me too and really bugged me when I saw the wapo post.
it is exactly the sort of thing we have come to expect from them.
I only mentioned the wapo thing to bring it to peoples attn. I cannot condone nor condemn the wapo post, it is what it is.
personally I cannot prove he did it as said but believe he did it as said and later tried to shunt blame for whatever reason. this is the sort of stuff you see liars often doing.

    • Menicholas says:

“with the wonderful Jim Hansen, who was wiping his brow ”
Wow, and that karma is a mudda!
