I rode the Boulder buses for the first time today. They have an incredible bus system here, with buses running every few minutes and take you wherever you want to go. I’m going to take the bus to the airport for my next trip to Maryland this weekend, and save $100 in parking fees.
But the bike trails are also amazing here, and I can get there just as fast on a bike. So for in town transport, I will stick with my bicycle. Either way, kudos to the city planners for doing such a great job.
You deserve a chauffeur, Steven, but that would destroy your value to society.

Really Colorado,
In the current global warming scenario, is it polite to show a picture of a coolie ? 🙂
Really? Did you just say that, Andy?
Calling this hard-working leg worker a “coolie” is not only anti-planetarist but also classist, racist, colonialist, continentalist, subcontinentalist, hemispherist, cuisineist, sexist, genderist, subgenderist, ableist, ageist and definitely bicyclist *).
Besides the intended insults and with so many variations on the spelling of “coolie” **) you’ve invoked a “collie” ***) which creates a separate slate of microaggressions against Muslims; also herd animals and people who consort with herd animals; President Obama, his stepfather, Indonesians and Koreans; and last but not least the Shetlanders, the Welsh, women with beards and Caitlyn Jenner.
I suspect you also insulted the Aboriginals but I have yet to figure out your angle.
You committed so many microaggressions in one sentence that soon we’ll have a fat milliaggression.

You failed to mentioned “transphobic”.
“You committed so many microaggressions in one sentence ”
Cool !!! 🙂
“with buses running every few minutes and take you wherever you want to go”
Wherever you want to go like a taxi does ? That’s so amazing ! 😉 “Driver, take me to see my friend Joe, thank you ”
In theory you suffer the effects of road pollution less if you cycle so that might be a good choice.
It cost $ 100 to park your bike at the airport ?
Have you ever looked at airport parking fees ??? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No
The buses should make a big difference in the Winter though.
This year’s strong El Niño (which means, “The Niño!”), could cause some massive dumps in the Denver area, going by historic trends.
I’m from southern Louisiana, which means I’ve never ridden a bike over ice, but my snowboarding trips tell me that I wouldn’t want to even try.
I broke my tailbone delivering papers on my bike as a kid, when the back tire slipped out from under me on the ice. I rode in snow and ice for years, and only had this one painful incident, but once was enough.
I broke my tail bone on Fryer Drop Zone at Ft. Benning, Ga on my fifth and last qualifying jump at Jump school. There was no way in hell I was saying a damned thing. After I regained control of my legs from the spinal shock I bundled up that chute and stuffed it in it’s kit bag and ran off that DZ like nothing had happened. My Paratrooper Dad was there to pin HIS silver wings upon my chest. Then I was taking my first leave since I had enlisted. Exactly 99 jumps later I got hurt again. Slammed down on the end of the main runway of Wright Patterson AFB just outside the rolling gate of the tall fence in high (well over 25 mph winds) Drove my elbow into the asphalt so hard that it evulsed the joint capsule right through the skin. Also I flattened my prized Italian aluminum canteen. By that time I was such a hard case I had the Air Force PA clean it and sew it up without a local. But I was one hurtin dude for a couple days. Should have taken the shot of Demoral he offered instead of the Tylenol 3.
