1976 : CIA Said Global Cooling Impacts Were “almost beyond comprehension”

An alarming new theory posits that whereas fossil fuel consumes energy that has been locked out of the system, wind and solar are actually removing energy from the atmosphere that would otherwise be absorbed into the climate …
The proliferation of windmills is removing dynamic energy from wind currents…to what long term effects? Solar power absorbs heat and light that for all time has been absorbed into the planet’s ecosystem…again-to what long term effect? We need to study these matters deeply before continuing to move blindly in this entirely new direction.
Well cooling works via radiation, but much of that radiation loss is moved to an effective place to radiate to space.
So yes, slowing down convection would slow down cooling. It is simply a question of how much. My instinct is to tiny to measure, but I am a skeptic, so forget me, and shut down all windmills.
too tiny to measure,
as is AGW
Wind farms can cause dramatic increases in albedo by cooling air downwind of the turbines, causing clouds to form.

But they can also cause warming.

So wind farms can cause warming and cooling ?
As can farts, nuclear power, Donald ‘it is my hair’ Trump, war memorials and undiscovered species of ”
40 years ago the CIA ‘working paper’ was, well, from the CIA, an organisation not known for showing restraint in the field of exagerating facts to suit a desired outcome….. just like the fraudulent scientists who claim that global warming is manmade do.
Uh, wouldn’t the heat removed from the atmosphere be reintroduced to the “climate” when and where the generated electricity is used (or wasted due to parasitic losses)? I suppose it could be argued that the energy consumer is at a lower elevation forcing more CO2 molecules into an uncontrolled frenzy.
@stephen
there is no man made global warming.
there never was….
and there never will be….

look at the derivative of the temp. anomaly, i.e the speed of warming/cooling
currently is is only naturally cooling/
In 1976 we were experiencing near the maximum cooling effects of the ~60 yr ocean cycle. These effects were somewhat counterbalanced by the still rising ~centennial and millennial solar cycles which are now in decline. I wonder what the official prognosticators will have to say circa 2036, as these cycles indicate it is likely to be much colder then than in 1976?
