The extent of thirty percent concentration sea ice in the Arctic has reach 10 million km² in December for the first time since at least 2004.
shown sea ice extent values are therefore recommended to be used qualitatively in relation to ice extent values from other years shown in the figure.
Looks like the Arctic is returning to the Ice extent of the late 1990’s… now I wonder, how many Warmists will dismiss the 30% concentration, deny the reality & make fools of themselves..?
It’s all thin rotten ice. It’s the wrong graph. Cherry picking.
Sorry, the Christmas spirit moved me, and I picked up a little something for the trolls. Should I have just stuck with a lump of coal?
In another week that great big fat black line will disappear and it will be back to business as usual.

It was supposed to look like this

It’s just weather.
All the warmth that should be there melting the ice went to the eastern US. 😉
Merry Christmas to all.
So, we’re not doomed?

Or, as another wise man once said,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night.”
Steve: an alarmist friend keeps telling me that that graph filters out coastal ice and the “real one” shows 2015 ice in line with most post 2005 years, still well below the long term average.
What a surprise ! After a couple of weeks not updating these graphs, the new updated version show an extent which suddenly dropped to the low levels shown in recent years !
And better : the link to the graph showing coastal zones masked out has disappeared from the main page… too inconvenient to show now ?
This raises a serious concern about how exactly these extent graphs are computed, and it demands the raw data for all years to be re-computed independently. I would not be surprised that the resulting average and standard deviation show differently.
So the reputation of science and government sinks to new lows….
They will never get my trust back. Once gone it is gone for ever.
Hey have you noticed that Sunshine hours has a new look?
Good piece on MASIE versus NSIDC there.
