Final Draft of Global Climate Change Deal Is Complete – WSJ

The US Constitution makes it abundantly clear that Obama does not have the authority to enslave the American people with his climate insanity.

[The President] shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur…

Thomas Jefferson explained that the Article II treaty procedure is not necessary when there is no long-term commitment:

It is desirable, in many instances, to exchange mutual advantages by Legislative Acts rather than by treaty: because the former, though understood to be in consideration of each other, and therefore greatly respected, yet when they become too inconvenient, can be dropped at the will of either party: whereas stipulations by treaty are forever irrevocable but by joint consent….[4]

The Republicans what the Climate treaty as much as Obama does they will do exactly like they did with the Iran treaty and turn it to a 2/3 vote to stop rather than a 2/3 vote to pass.

Obama already is accomplishing that goal with the national debt. Has anyone else noticed that the price of about every staple but Oil and Natural Gas has really gone up over the last 6 months. Our grocery bill is 25% higher than it was just a year ago. Beef prices are really up there right now. I paid $8.08 a lb for two USDA Prime Top Loin strip steaks yesterday and that were on sale. Over $28.00 paid for two decent sized steaks. They were damned good though. Noticed that Porter house and T-bones were over $14.00 a lb. Eggs are way up though Dairy has come down some lately. Heck I noticed earlier this week at a Pilot truck stop that the price of the two-fors on the large candy bars they always run has gone up from $2.50 to $3.14. Even the prices for soft drinks has gotten ridiculous. In fact about the only consumable offered at a truck stop that seems to be less expensive is fuel.

Yes Rah, I have noticed, since Skeeter took office my grocery bill has gone up about 50 percent. And it wasn’t a gradual change, it seemed to happen within the span of one year.

Your a banker. I gotta ask. 15 or 20 years ago did you guys foresee the day coming when pop machines would take credit cards as quite a few do now? Is it just me? Or is that fact surreal for others also?

        • gator69 says:

That was not a surprise to me. What has been eye poppingly unbelievable is the amount of new regulations handed down since Dodd-Frank, which created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. New decrees from this unelected board with zero oversight are still being handed down from on high to this very day. Proof poistive that banks do not run the world. Trust me, if us bankers ran the world, it would be a better place for everyone.

        • I’d rather see the bankers run the country than our corrupt political class. Or the first 400 people from a phone directory. Just not Boston, please.

I’d rather entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people listed in the Boston telephone directory than to the faculty of Harvard University.

Like most businesses (with the exception of recession-proof alcohol), banks do better when the economy does better, it is in the best interest of the bank to see everyone flourish.

And rah, I forgot to mention that what I find shocking today about pop machines, is the price they charge! Holy crap, if the banks had kept pace with Coke and Pepsi, they would rule the Earth now. 😉

Before long you’re going to be able to pay at soft drink machines using your watch, Rah.

That’s when it REALLY starts getting surreal.

I was skeptical about the Apple watch, but I got one to help me organize my soccer team’s practices. Even though I have to use cheaters to read anything beyond the time, the practicality is surprising to me. I haven’t worn a watch in years because of cell phones but constantly use my smart watch now. My IPhone can be a bit bulky to get out of my pocket, so I answer calls and read and send texts from my watch. I haven’t paid for anything yet but will do so soon.

I finally got my Dick Tracy 2-way radio wrist watch after all these years.

The goal of all government is to force you to do as they say. The goal is to force you to be servile to the state and its minions. Obama certainly seems to be worse that many of the others as he is trying to “fix” the climate when the climate is not broken. He wants to break the industrialized societies of the west and reduce all to 3rd world status.

CO2 does not warm the surface to any amount that is detectable, and many scientists who not in thrall to the state say it has a small overall cooling effect. We have had nearly 20 years of no warming while the CO2 in the atmosphere rose dramatically. What type of idiot can not see that disproves the contention that CO2 is the control knob of the planet’s climate?
