And the Arctic is full of thick ice.

Leading scientists say the Arctic will be ice-free this summer, and the White House seeks to prosecute anyone who disagrees.

“could become …” yeah … and I could sprout wings and fly. Or maybe I could win the lottery, which would be amazing since I don’t play!! These are all roughly equally possible and equally unlikely.

And so called science could become fact free and thought free too. Except that this IS actually happening right before our eyes.

I read some time ago (and did not have the good sense to note where) that buying a lottery ticket does not MATERIALLY improve your chance of winning.

My “scientific observations” for most of my 62 years tell me that this was inevitable. :)

What idiots, “Loss of Antarctic ice has soared by 75 per cent in just 10 years,” – did the reporter even bother to check data? We had record high sea ice extent or area in the Antarctic two years in a row. Or maybe mixing up Arctic and Antarctic being idiot.
“Arctic could become ice-free for first time in more than 100,000 years” – wonder how much ice there was during the Medieval Warming Period 1,000 years ago when farmers doing great in Greenland and grapes growing in London, or even warmer Roman Warming Period 2,000 years ago, or even warmer Minoan Warming Period 3,500 years ago all warmer than today? At least 95% of last 10,000 years was warmer than today.
Another dismal forecast,”She said she thought this would not happen until sometime between 2030 and 2050″ – like 10 years ago, more hurricanes, more extreme weather, no polar ice on north end, NYC and Florida coast under water, exaggerated temperature forecasts, all never came true. Yes, this is a “runaway train” powered by coal, more another fiction novel about future, inconvenient truth that it is all a mirage fueled only by human intake of “scientist” hot air.

    • JPinBalt says:

For the “hot air” mentioned last comment polluting lower troposphere, plus explosive methane from ruminious animal with a possible half-life of one presidential term or four years (It could blow in any reporter’s direction, localized climate change, warmer, tipping point, melt the poles, please help us from this disaster):

The alJazeera reporter gravely intoned ‘this glacier has been retreating at a rate of half a metre a year for 40 years’. Holy collapsing ice caps, Batman, that’s er…20 metres!
