A Giant Among Us

We have now passed eleven years since a major hurricane struck the US. At a Senate hearing on hurricanes eleven years ago, Dr. Bill Gray told the truth about global warming.

Bogus science and media hype driven by scientists to obtain government grants.

He was attacked by Kerry Emanuel, Peter Webster and Judith Curry – who were sure that major hurricanes were going to become more common and powerful.

Judith and Peter have since come around. Kerry Emanuel maintains his dissonance. But my friend Bill Gray was a giant, and I miss him terribly.

Life is much too short and the ‘greens’/progressives want to make it even shorter and miserable (but not for them).

Thank you for being his friend.

  3. Gail Combs says:

I hope history treats Dr Grey kindly as one of the few HONEST scientist of this era.

And yes he is a hero.

People have know idea of how hard it is to remain honest when the elite can easily have you blackballed from any type of work for life.

This is one of the other reasons for destroying small businesses since they are not controlled by the International Cartel and therefore allow employment possibilities for the rebels in our country.

      You are so right.

    • Analitik says:

I believe there are still many honest scientists but there are a bunch of fakes calling themselves “climate scientists”

Sadly, there are a fair number of scientists riding the CAGW meme for funding purposes.

  4. Dave N says:

Webster was (partially*) right: “If you don’t have to worry about global warming, you don’t need an energy policy”. His lack of critical thinking didn’t tell him that if there really is no emergency, it doesn’t have to be an “excuse”; it can simply be a logical conclusion.

*You don’t have to have a global warming concern to have a sensible energy policy, either.

  5. Louis Hooffstetter says:

Kerry Emanuel said Gray lacks expertise. “You can find renegade scientists that are willing to say anything, and unfortunately Dr. Gray falls into that category.”

How fitting that Kerry Emanuel will be remembered as one of those “renegade scientists willing to say anything” (for government grant money), while Dr. Gray will be on par with Richard Feynman.

    Karma’s a bitch, ain’t it Kerry?

“In the Eye of the $torm – Kerry Emmanuel – The Non Political Scientist”

(In 2012) “Dr Kerry Emanuel of MIT caused a storm recently, when he said in a Mother Jones video that, as a Republican scientist, he is almost ashamed to be an American, because not all Republican candidates have embraced Global Warming. An LA Times Op-Ed from January 5th 2012, portrayed him as the conservative scientist out to save the world.

In February last year, Dr Emanuel was playing the same “Republican scientist who believes in global warming” message in a radio interview for NPR. He brought in the usual mantras about the tobacco industry and a campaign of disinformation funded by vested interests, but failed to mention his own vested interest in the disaster insurance business.”
