Since the 2007 peak ten years ago this week, Arctic sea ice extent has trended upwards slightly.

A Google search for “Arctic ice disappearing” turns up 453,000 fake news results.
Leading government experts predicted the ice would disappear in 2008.

Other more conservative experts predicted that the ice wouldn’t be gone until 2014.
At his Nobel Prize acceptance speech, Al Gore predicted ice-free in 2014.
Global warming is the biggest scam in science history. Congress needs to expose and completely defund this idiocy.
Does Mr. Hunt have a prediction as to when the Arctic will be “virtually ice free”? I mean after all he grabs onto any “news” that sea ice or the Greenland ice sheet are declining and so he must believe that they’re in a state of perpetual decline. As wrong as they were those you show above at least had the stones to make predictions.
Don’t you have to have warming to have loss of sea ice? There is no warming.

CO2isLife says:
“Don’t you have to have warming to have loss of sea ice?”
NO!
All you need is wind in the right direction to transport the ice out of the arctic and into the Atlantic.

There is actual warming of the Arctic waters since 1979, as part of the NATURAL AMO cycle.
Remember that the water has to be pretty near zero, as well as the atmosphere being below zero, and the oceans currents play a big part.
Melt can happen from below (only ocean currents, nothing to do with CO2 at all) as well as from above
I don’t have graphs here. Will post later on.. if I remember ;-)
Agreed Andy G but it is the storms and wind that cause the big decreases.
Changes in the ocean temperature are a bit more long term and gradual cycles.
AMO…
It doesn’t take a genius to guess what happens next.

ARGO temperature time series looking at temperature at different depths.
The water looks like it is getting colder. That should make Jimmy Boy and Griffy very happy as the ice increases and more people die.
Without wind pressing it together, how thick would 1st year sea ice grow in normal winter conditions. In other words, At what thickness there is a 100 % isolation where it can not grow thicker?
Didn’t satellites start measuring Arctic ice in 1973, and not 1979 as NatGeo states?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Measurement_of_sea_ice#Satellites
“Useful satellite data concerning sea ice began in December 1972 with the Electrically Scanning Microwave Radiometer (ESMR) instrument. However, this was not directly comparable with the later SMMR/SSMI, and so the practical record begins in late 1978 with the launch of NASA’s Scanning Multichannel Microwave Radiometer (SMMR) satellite.,[5] and continues with the Special Sensor Microwave/Imager (SSMI). Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer (AMSR) and Cryosat-2.”
Typically misleading.
Still gives an accurate history of satellite use to measure sea ice though of course the records can be adjusted to be comparable but they wouldn’t show that because it would expose their scam when it showed that sea ice levels in 1979 were anomalously high compared to previous years and all after in the total satellite record.
Not disputing the 1979 on wards data, but the 1972 to 1978 time frame is good enough for science.
The 1990 IPCC report has a chart from 1973. However, I think the instrument or method changed about 1979, so they conveniently use the high point in 1979.

Gore could be a genius. But he’s not.
True but he could be a crazed pooch.
But he is a multimillionaire with an enormous footprint.
Re: Maslowski et al. The paper was published in 2010 but the data ends at the 2005 minimum, apparently to justify the desired trend line. Typical junk climate science.
