Hiding The Inconvenient Satellite Data

In 1972,  forty-two “top European and American investigators” predicted a rapidly approaching new ice age –  based on an increase in snow and ice cover from 1967-1972.

The technique employed …..  depends on the averaging of information from standard and ‘infra-red satellite weather pictures.

The Arctic climate was becoming more frigid, the ice was getting “ominously thicker.”

Icelandic ports were blocked with ice for the first time in the 20th century.

THE ROLE OF NOAA’S CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CLIMATE SERVICES

NOAA now pretends that time began in 1979, and that they don’t have any satellite data prior to the 1979 peak.

minimum sea ice extent at the end of summer 2016 tied with 2007 for the second lowest in the satellite record, which started in 1979.

The 1990 IPCC report showed some of the inconvenient data, which NOAA is now hiding. However, it did not show the 12% increase prior to 1972.

satellite observations have been used to map sea-ice extent routinely since the early 1970s. The American Navy Joint Ice Center has produced weekly charts which have been digitised by NOAA.

1990 IPCC Report

The 1985 DOE report (predecessor to the IPCC) showed sea ice extent was much lower in the 1950’s than it was in the 1970’s.

Arctic sea ice is now about the same thickness (two meters) as it was sixty years ago, and sixty years later the New York Times is still making the same ice-free Arctic forecasts.

All of NOAA’s cheating and hiding data is about to unravel however. Arctic sea ice volume is fourth highest in the last 15 years.

And winter snow cover has continued to increase since 1967.

Nothing is happening in the Arctic. The entire global warming scam is based on lies and data tampering. And most importantly rewriting history.

And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed – if all records told the same tale – then the lie passed into history and became truth. “Who controls the past,” ran the Party slogan, “controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.” And yet the past, though of its nature alterable, never had been altered. Whatever was true now was true from everlasting to everlasting. It was quite simple. All that was needed was an unending series of victories over your own memory. “Reality control,” they called it: in Newspeak, “doublethink.”

How neat Tony is using the past to correct the future.

It only takes a couple of good influential journalists to raise all this, the false flag fires, droughts, floods, heatwaves and deaths therefrom etc, into the public consciousness, and the game will be over for all the fakery, the scammers, parasites, traitors, maggots, et al.

It looks like Greenland’s mass loss rate has turned the corner and begun its climb back to neutral…

Quietly, the mass loss rate in Greenland has been below normal since June 15…with all the cold water around it, a record gain is still possible.

    • Steven Fraser says:

Here is an image which consolidates the SMB for this year and last. The blue registration lines help show how this year compares with last, matching very well recently. A piece of the scale has been pulled in to show how the current value compares with average (150GT higher than avg) and also compared with the 2012 melt. The value now is 400Gt higher than that year.

Also, a comment on the day-by day chart of SMB rate, It has tended toward the high side of the greyed-in melt range very often.

      • Taphonomic says:

I always get a kick out DMI publishing their current graph without last years high values while retaining the low values from 2011-2012.

“Global was a conjecture in the 1970s…”
It was a consensus, which is not science. But because those ‘experts’ were wrong (some of whom are the same experts who are wrong now as Tony points out) the history has softened it to conjecture.

So-how were those 42 scientists punished for not seeing the most superobvious true truth that has ever existed=AGW.
And for making me a paranoid, homophob hitleresque climate denier-
    as i do believe them.
    have they been
    a)stoned to death?

b)sent for 50 years to prison?

c)they simply changed sides ,pretended that nothing of this ever happened and became AGW propagandist and trippled their income by doing so
and calling everyone a crazy anti-science conspiracy theorist who still believes
in their very own ice age theory?
(i do,because it is common knowledge that 42 is the answer for everything :)

    or
    d) the very constant and very slow sea level rise
has proven the ice age theorist as wrong
as it nowadays proves the AGW wrong.

e)We need a new set of laws that punishes scientists with agendas and fake bold predictiond (minimum 5 years prison)

  6. Josh says:

Keith Carlson, “Global cooling was just a small movement.”
He is definitely right as the Chicago Tribune, NYT, The Guardian, and Brown University are all insignificant. /s

    • arn says:

“movement” is as scientific as consensus.
(thx god he found a bigger ‘movement’ now called AGW
and whatever happened to the “there never was an ice age scare in the 70ies “-consensus?
Another lie they were not able to keep up.
So they too the next step after:After denial comes downplaying.

    • Johansen says:

In hindsight that letter sure makes Brown Univ. look self-serving/ opportunistic. Whoever actually wrote it was certainly impressed with their own self-importance

    • Steven Fraser says:

      Re: The DOE ice chart….

My question to an alarmist would be, ‘What caused the sea ice decline from 1927-1965, which was then reversed almost completely in the next 3 years?”

That should get, their climatological juices flowing.

  7. Steven Fraser says:

Update: Stats for July 24 DMI Sea Ice Volume:

2018 is still #4, with the decline rate 17 cu km lower since yesterday. The current value of volume has risen to 113.38% of the 16-year average, and 115.09% of the DMI-charted 2004-2013 period, and both advanced to higher levels in their std deviation groups.

Decline rate for the 24th was 6th lowest (-150). The decline rates for #1 2004 was 226, and #2 2014 was 218, so the gap between them and 2003 and 2018 decreased. 2003 had melt rate of -110.

In the sliding 7-day decline chart, 2018 is now tied for #10 highest (or 5th lowest, if you prefer), and if the current rates continue, will move farther down the list in tomorrow’s values.

For the group as a whole since June 23, the average daily decline rate has been variable, increasing from -362 that day to the peak of -370 June 30, and then decreasing to -162 on July 24, putting 2018’s value for the 24th at 12 cukm below the average .

  8. GTPath says:

All you climate scientists need to be ready with your grant proposals the next time we have a cool summer in North America. Begin collecting data in the 1930’s and “adjust” temperatures to show rapid cooling. Blame it on some trace gas (other than CO2) being emitted by the Russians. Use photos of shivering polar bears . We’ll need a catchy pseudoscientific name.

  9. Steelman says:

Where is Griff? She’s usually all over it, when matters of the Artic is the topic.
Had some clashes with alarmists in some news articles, when there is comment sections. When mentioning the ice age scare, they all goes into denial mode, claims that it’s false or that it was only one or two articles about it.
When confronted by truth and facts, denial seems to be the only way to escape, from losing their religion.
