According to NOAA :
“Summer 2024 was the fourth-hottest summer on record for the U.S.
A very warm August wrapped up an extremely hot summer across the U.S., with many cities breaking all-time heat records.”
Only four of 1,218 USHCN stations set their all-time record temperature this year.
Average maximum temperatures were 44th warmest.
Average mean temperatures were 20th warmest.
The percent of stations reaching 90F was 92nd highest.
The percent of days above 90F was 66th highest.
if it’s the fourth hottest summer wouldn’t you think you’d set some daily record highs but I don’t believe we did set any daily high temperature records in Minnesota this past summer
Hogwash NOAA. I found this summer to be pleasant. I’m 74 now and I’ve experienced much worse summers. My grass has been green all season long and hasn’t turned its usual brown once this summer.
I cultivate the brown grass variety and I find it is easier to maintain in the summertime than the green variety. Brown grass requires much less mowing. But I have found that rain water is deadly to my brown grass. It kills it right out. All summer long the rains have choked out my brown grass and replaced it with the green variety. It needs mowing right now but rain threatens today.
NOAA, maybe you can fool young people who haven’t experienced really hot summers here in Arkansas but you can’t fool old-timers like me.
The Washington Post destroyed that crap the other day ????????That 485 Million year graph was BEAUTIFUL JUSTICE ????????
Was this “fourth hottest summer”, twice as hot as the last fourth hottest summer, anywhere?
