The frequency is not down enough! At least this week. Still, this has been a wonderful spring up to this week. Enjoy it. We are normally like this a month earlier.

    • Gail Combs says:

Yes, we finally hit a typical NC summer week. High temps ranging from 86°F to 93 °F.

It is interesting that the beginning of the week forecast was for temps at least 5 °F or more higher than what we are seeing (94 °F T0 98 °F.)

      • philjourdan says:

You lucked out. Our forecast has been pretty accurate. No records, just mid and upper 90s.

        • Gail Combs says:

Well they changed yet again for today instead of 94° F the forecast high is 97° F but the weekend instead of being mid 90s is now mid 80s

Jeff Masters track record this week is looking like the score board of a basketball game. It doesn’t remain the same for more than five seconds.

        • Gail Combs says:

Good grief, a couple hours later and now the forecast for today is for 95° F Partly Cloudy instead of 97° F and clear.

And these guys who can not tell us the weather happening 6 hours from now, want us to believe they know what will be happening a few decades from now?

Steven Goddard has constructed a time series on the frequency of hot days over 100 deg F and 90 deg F since 1910 and finds a downward trend. Steve didn’t give a commentary and leaves you to ponder
