One Day In One Location Now Determines Climate

Yesterday, the team was hysterical about a tiny amount of surface melt across 40% of Greenland’s ice sheet.

Today, the spike is gone. Eighteen years of no global warming is just weather, but one relatively warm day in one location is climate.

Once again we must be careful with our broader argument. See graph below on Greenland Ice Sheet. It’s clearly undergoing a melting trend. We have to stick to HARD facts that we can be 100% sure of. Otherwise the green left will cherry pick our statements.

That’s true Steven. Perhaps I am drawing too long a bow however from 1980-2012 the World Glacier Monitoring Service recorded a negative mass balance globally in each year. This corresponds to the recorded melting.

I would care to guess that over the next millennia there will be several periods of decades-long to century-long time spans where glaciers are either advancing or retreating. The last several millennia of the Holocene shows just that.

What happened to all the MODIS arctic project data??
Seems like most of the MODIS archive has been deleted going back to 2008.

Any government official endorsing the global warming scam should be run out of town and blackballed. Any reporter knowingly disseminating AGW misinformation should get a pink slip and tongue lashing and forced to take a refresher course in basic reporting. And any government-funded “scientist” promoting the fraud should be fired and prosecuted under the RICO Act. The damage they’ve done to their fellow human beings, especially the impoverished masses living in third-world countries, is incalculable.

Mankind faces a clear and present danger from an influential, well-funded cadre of pro-collectivist environmental extremists who are hell-bent on destroying what’s left of this nation’s industrialized market economy. They won’t be happy until we’ve been reduced to an impoverished tribe of fruit and nut gatherers.

Expect a bumper barley crop this year!

It is back to the average (1990-2011) now, according to DMI:

Interesting that Tobis is the only person to comment on his own blog – he must be having such an impact!

Something is lost in the Greenland argument. During the Medieval warm period the Vikings were raising livestock on Greenland and growing grapes in Newfoundland. They were named Greenland and New-Found-Land.

When the Medieval Warm Period ended and Greenland started to cool there is a clear unmistakable evidence of their settlements retreating in the archeology and in their texts.
To add insult to injury they refused to adopt to the Intuits fishing tactics. They look down on the Intuit and used a pejorative term translated something like “little brown people” when they referred to them.

There were other such patterns during the last 12,000 years if one cared to look at the art, archeology, writings, and histories of past civilizations. Hell, Saudi Arabia was a savanna with two large rivers running through the land. Imagine the abundance of livestock in Saudi during those time not so far away in the Earths long record.

Thanks for the effort. I am glad I found you.
