John Kerry making up one lie after another
When 97 percent of scientists agree on anything, we need to listen, and we need to respond.
And they agree that, if we continue to go down the same path that we are going down today, the world as we know it will change – and it will change dramatically for the worse.
There has never been any study or survey which showed anything remotely in the ballpark of what Kerry claimed.
Next he gets into a discussion of science which makes alchemists look like serious people.
So we know this is happening, and we know it with virtually the same certainty that we understand that if we reach out and touch that hot stove, we’re going to get burned. In fact, this is not really a complicated equation. I know sometimes I can remember from when I was in high school and college, some aspects of science or physics can be tough – chemistry. But this is not tough. This is simple. Kids at the earliest age can understand this.
Try and picture a very thin layer of gases – a quarter-inch, half an inch, somewhere in that vicinity – that’s how thick it is. It’s in our atmosphere. It’s way up there at the edge of the atmosphere. And for millions of years – literally millions of years – we know that layer has acted like a thermal blanket for the planet – trapping the sun’s heat and warming the surface of the Earth to the ideal, life-sustaining temperature. Average temperature of the Earth has been about 57 degrees Fahrenheit, which keeps life going. Life itself on Earth exists because of the so-called greenhouse effect. But in modern times, as human beings have emitted gases into the air that come from all the things we do, that blanket has grown thicker and it traps more and more heat beneath it, raising the temperature of the planet. It’s called the greenhouse effect because it works exactly like a greenhouse in which you grow a lot of the fruit that you eat here.
This is what’s causing climate change. It’s a huge irony that the very same layer of gases that has made life possible on Earth from the beginning now makes possible the greatest threat that the planet has ever seen.
How did the world’s stupidest people get control of the country?
Rather than eating their own, they elect them.
It’s called voting, although even that’s debatable determined by legitimacy.
In general, yes, but for this particular fool we can also thank Walter Cronkite.
Now this is a very important – powerful – statement, in the moment.
“There has never been any study or survey which showed anything remotely in the ballpark of what Kerry claimed.”
Indeed. But it’s worse than that; Kerry’s statement was only about gloomy predictions . . about the theorized future. He, in the past, as well as Obama, and so many activist warmist sorts, have stated for the record as much as, “in each and every part of the US, or the globe, we are currently seeing (people are suffering from the effects of) the dramatic effects of CACC. It is already impacting our lives in catastrophic ways.”
OK – prove it. Or, STFU.
So – here are the questions that the Climate Realists need to ask (preferably publicly, in front of the camera) as often as possible to such crapola:”
First. Where is a peer reviewed published scientific paper which has found the empirical evidence demonstrating that the earth is experiencing long-term (define first half of 20th century vs since 1950) climate change, other than a bit of global warming. Per your definition, this would include a worsening trend of cyclonic activity (both in frequency and intensities), expanded cycles of global drought as well as worsening extreme drought, worse flood events, more tornadoes (number of and intensity of), etc.
Secondly. Presenting that evidence, where is the peer reviewed published scientific paper which has found the empirical evidence demonstrating such worsening long-term trends in extreme weather events, has been caused by man’s contribution of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere which has increased global warming, such that these worsening climatic extreme weather events have resulted from.
Whether, or not, it will occur as some are predicting is indeed a curious question, but this want to say it is happening is the biggest lie of all times.
It’s time for us to publicly challenge them to produce the evidence.
They don’t have it.
Gary, you said, “CACC” Please consider not playing their game. The theory is CAGW.
It is entirety predicated on the global mean T of the atmosphere (not the deep oceans sequestering some theoretical heat for centuries) rising and that rise causing catastrophic consequences. Other then that, your post was fine by me.
As for Kerry, a more idiotic inane moronic stupid arrogant comment, exceeded only by its ignorance, I cannot imagine.
Wait, I think Kerry also said words to the affect that we can have peace with Islamist by teaming up to fight global warming. (That may be even dumber.)
AND>>>> These are the people, along with Suzuki; Hansen-et-al, that claim that WE should be charged with crimes against humanity.
Fraudulent Yes, Stupid No, as they know near 51% of the voter base are useful idiots.
………….FACE PALM………
This idiot represents my country to the world???
I really really want that mile high glacier sitting on Chicago with all these idiots under it.
WOW! … This guy makes stupid look smart…
Stupid people elected them.
Either that or dead people. link
True.
Given that the Obama Admin has aggressively gone after True the Vote you smell a bit of smoke in the air when it comes to vote fixing.

Global warming likely to cause colder and snowier winters, scientists say

You really can’t make this stuff up.
I’ve got it!
There’s a simple answer, and it’s been staring me in the face all this time…
Kerry’s ‘blanket’ of CO2 is really a Peltier device!
Snicker…
They are not stupid they are evil. The problem is the stupid people believe what they speak.
With exception of those who benefit from any scam, electors are sincere and full of common sense. But we cannot expect from them any logical choice due to the biased media universe, their only source of information from outside world. How can a Pennsylvania coal digger know what happens in Brazil? By biased media.
Present full freedom of speach lead a handful of lobbying private organizations to tune media, having a disproportionate influence level upon electors and politicians. These lobbyies are those who drive US, not Senate, Congress, White House and so on.
These lobbyies are unconstitutional because they are neither elected no driven by elected politicians. This is the globalized West’s plague or tyranny.
It’s probably the same in post commusist States: So, why should we behave like them and prostituting Freedom?
“How can a Pennsylvania coal digger know what happens in Brazil? By biased media.”
Actually Herve this is not the way it works. Fact is that in coal mining and with most major industries there are trade journals which inform the people that wish to know about what is going on in their business all over the world. New developments and technology is reported.
Also, the coal industry, like most others have regional and national conventions. And their associations have monthly meetings. How do I know this? Well because at one time I was a vender that sold product and services to them and thus I have attended them and shown at the conventions. The miner and coal prep plant user and the customers they serve have plenty of access to the most current information of the technical aspects, innovations, and developments in their field presented in far more detail than any general news program or paper is going to give them. It’s there for anyone, in or outside of the industry that wants it.
Because the world’s stupidest voters elected them.
Mencken can answer your question best Steven.
“As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and complete narcissistic moron.”
– H.L. Mencken
PS “The fish rots from the head”
What a perfect description
You do realize that pretty much all of our elected “representatives” are this stupid and corrupt, yeah? And it is only going to get worse? One of my favorite movie quotes is coming true: “Reality is just what we say it is. Sane and insane can easily switch places if the insane were to become the majority. You’d find yourself locked in a padded cell wondering what happened to the world?”
Democrat or Republican, it makes no difference. There is going back. Forward into insanity!
There should be a “no” in there between “is” and “going.” Sorry about that…
At what point does the US political system say “you are lying” or “prove it”?
Or is it just theatre and propaganda?
If by the “political system” you mean “senior officials”, a few have tried it. But there is a tendency for their statements to be met with claims of racism or misanthropy. Jim DeMint, a leader of congressional TEA partiers, quit the Senate over such issues, specifically saying he didn’t believe conservatives could accomplish anything more by staying.
And Romney has said he supports government funding for wind and solar.
It’s not all theater and propaganda BUT … there are a large number of officials who still don’t want to rock the boat. There seems to still be a belief that anyone leading a charge up the hill, so to speak, will find themselves standing alone on the side of the hill, with their allies cowering in the trenches behind them. There is a “learned helplessness” that seems to have set in. It could be that a lot of constituents who understand there is lying in progress still want to see some government effort to reduce people’s CO2 emissions, perhaps in a misguided belief that it can’t hurt. People, even strong conservatives, have been so brainwashed by socialist green propaganda, that it will likely take a lot more de-programming to get them thinking straight on the issues of energy and climate policy.
May I again suggest that petitioning various officials (not just the White House) can be an effective tool against such structural inertia. But it must be taken seriously by a lot of climate realists, not just a handful. If one petition doesn’t work, do another. And another. If you really believe in the importance of it, you will not want to stop. Most people want to think it’s someone else’s responsibility, but that’s not now political action works! There has to be large numbers of people willing to give up the personal life that they’re used to, to put in the amount of time that is required. I try occasionally to jump start action by commenting on this blog. But there is such a massive amount of limp-wristed apathy, it’s like trying to get air out of a vacuum. People will sound off here, but then they ignore the small number of commenters who have tried to take it to the next level. Maybe you should ask if you are just all talk, or are you willing to pass petitions, organize demonstrations, and meet the rest of us face-to-face. If not, then look in the mirror to see the problem.

“This is simple. Kids at the earliest age can understand this. Try and picture a very thin layer of gases – a quarter-inch, half an inch, somewhere in that vicinity – that’s how thick it is.”
Hmmmm … at 90% atmosphere averaging 16 km altitude by pressure – half an inch makes the globe he is using in the vicinity of about 335 feet or 1/10 km thick. Now if with a bunch of 14 year old “kids” in a classroom, seems you would be using something like a basketball comparison for the earth instead of a ball football field sized width (or even a pea if sun is a basketball), so if case Kerry has inflated things like atmosphere size by more than 40,000.00% for earth if was a basketball, but think more hot air putting in explaining atmosphere. Any kid can understand the math (unless Common Core math curriculum as to explain answers more important than getting correct answers). Maybe Kerry is out there talking about Jupiter or Titan’s atmosphere at half an inch or mixing up a ketchup lid thickness relative to bottle as opposed to foil cover. I prefer saran wrap or a small fraction of an egg shell as e.g., get point and amazed how stable atmosphere is given thin thickness. I would not want him to be my kids’ science teacher, prefer science over inflation of artificial politically induced hot air injected as a pollutant in blown out of proportion atmosphere. I really have to blame more his science advisers and IPCC, people believe what is told and regurgitate. Worse for POTUS and current Holdren science adviser who said should put sterilizing agents in water supply to reduce population growth and avert global catastrophe by global warming, same guy who said last winter polar vortex and record cold in N. America was caused by global warming and more wavy jet stream, idiots where politics takes over science.
H.L. Mencken is wonderful. Gail, you are right about Rockefeller but need to dig deeper to find the Rothschilds Bankster empire holding Rockefeller’s strings. When the Iraq invasion started there were 6 or so non-Rothschild controlled bank systems. Now I think there are only two. Russia kicked Rothschild bankers out of the country a couple of years ago and look at all the lies to make Russia the bad guy. The Bankers want to control the world and haven’t stopped their evil for a moment.
It’s really true when someone says, “Follow the money.”

I’d rather say that people who want to control the world and happen to be bankers would be more accurate.
From Mark Steyn, writing about the man who appointed Kerry. http://www.steynonline.com/6554/kicking-sand-in-obama-face
From Benghazi to the Baltic, the world has the measure of Obama. The only people who don’t are America’s besotted, parochial elite and the deluded electorate who made this man “leader of the free world”.

Chemistry is hard, but climate “science” is easy. That’s why they teach general chemistry to freshman in High School, but atmospheric physics is taught to university graduate students.
“This is simple. Kids at the earliest age can understand this.” Yeah, a lot of kids believe urban myths.
If AGW is as certain as touching a hot stove why is it that anyone can give you an accurate prognostication on the results of touching a hot stove, but AGW is full of demonstrably wrong prognostications and basically no demonstrably correct prognostications?
“Scientists project that the Arctic will be ice-free in the summer of 2013.”
— John Kerry on Monday, August 31st, 2009 in an op-ed published in the Huffington Post
If Kerry is right, I’ll get my missus on the job. She’s always nicking my bit of the blanket
Simple…world’s stupidest voters.
I read his remarks. Is he really that stupid? He makes me sick, literally. Can our country survive when politicians dare to stoop so low?
“But in modern times, as human beings have emitted gases into the air that come from all the things we do …”
It has now become necessary for we, “the smart people” in government, to control the “things you do!”
