Bill McKibben Hopes To Remove The Last Remnants Of Science From Climate Science

This Sunday, upwards of 100,000 people are expected to take to the streets of New York City in a worldwide climate protest that organizers say will be the largest and most diverse in history.

If these numbers prove correct, then the “People’s Climate March” will likely mark the moment when global warming transitions from being a science and policy issue into a full-fledged social movement. Perhaps it will become as large as the gay rights and civil rights movements. But even if it doesn’t, it could play a crucial part in changing the political environment on this seemingly intractable issue.

Silly me. I thought Global Warming became a religion back in the Nineties when the wild initial projections didn’t line up with observed fact, when most climate inputs were ignored by the Global Warming mob, and when the climate models and Global Warming dogma failed peer review. Not to mention the witch hunt persecution of real scientists…

It will be difficult to find any science to remove from the government’s AGW fable!

Perfect title to the article, can’t think of a better way to discribe this.

If I’d thought about it, I could have ordered a giant Manbearpig floatie to hover over the crowd.

  5. rishrac says:

Definitely moving south if that happens. I’ll be one of those climate refugees they talk about. But not from the heat, from the cold. You can not live in a cold climate without heat. You can live where it is hot without air conditioning. Just have to move a lot slower.

Get a fence around them all and exterminate the ferals! That would be an act of kindness for mankind!

The whole power-grab con was designed with a strong religious element. πŸ˜‰

Strong’s wife Hanne had her acolytes boshing cymbals & chanting gaia at the ’92 Rio Earth Summit. His home ranch is registered as a religious, & no doubt tax free religious headquarters.
The creature knows if your goal is to destroy Christianity & the Industrialised World, you have to give the serfs you allow to live, some consolation in a new religion.

    Loads of info.

Thunderstorms Sunday in NYC. Thor will speak loud.

  9. edk says:

McKibbon is a modern day Don Quixote, he was an English major, his father was arresting protesting so I am sure an arrest on Sunday will be a badge of honor

The fact that this could even be considered shows how far we have fallen since we walked on the moon in 1969

There is an unwritten rule regarding protest demonstrations–cook the books in support of Conventional Wisdom. When 23 child-free people show up it is a Million Mom March in support of reducing the number of patrol officers in Ferguson, Missouri. Never mind that the counter-demonstration was 158 (not counting kids) and that 200 police were on hand–report 23 as a million or two million…

Yes, Ferguson seems off-topic but is part of the Big Lie technique. How many “protestors?” Reported were counter-protester “peacekeepers” numbering hundreds. There were at least 150 police facing protestors in that fact-free riot zone. The emphasis shifted from “brutal” police gunning down an unarmed “boy” to “militarized police” terrorizing Ferguson and trampling on the Constitution. Apparently a few hundred opportunists took up looting and burning–when the “militarized police” couldn’t cope, Governor Nixon deployed National Guardsmen–real military! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Ferguson_unrest

Is it okay for police to throw rocks and set things on fire, too?

So what will happen in New York City? Will the rioters be the heroes in the mainstream news media narrative? Will the rioter numbers be as accurately reported as the daily temperatures or will riot forecast numbers be used instead, just like climate forecasts are used to report global warming?

    • Gail Combs says:

au1corsair, The Vietnam riot at my big ten university made the national news. They showed film footage of that riot nation wide on all the different TV stations.

Only one slight problem. THERE WAS NO RIOT! It was the usual peaceful day with a bunch of nerdy would be engineers and scientist walking between classes carrying books and chatting. I had a full day of classes and was on campus the entire day. We never had a Vietnam riot or protest at that school and they had pulled out of Nam the year I graduated.

I quit watching TV shortly after that.

  12. It will only be a turning point if they suddenly come to their senses and stop acting crazy.

Take to the streets? Don’t they know Manhattan is under water?

  14. iurockhead says:

At the website, note the big blocks for various superficial interest groups that they are trying to get grouped together for the march, and the tiny sliver of space (in brown) designated for “scientists” AND interfaith groups. Looks like they don’t expect much in the way of technical folks participating.

“The largest climate march in history”?

    In their dreams!

If this is anything to go by, I very much doubt the nutters will even approach 100,000.

In fact, I’ll be surprised if they get within an order of magnitude of 100,000.

  16. Jason Calley says:

The largest climate march in history took place when approximately 1.3 million Okies, Arkies, and others migrated to California during the Dust Bowl years of the 1930s.

This process succeeded in raising the average IQ of both the drought stricken areas, AND California.

  17. This isn’t about climate … its about tearing down every conventional (conservative) institution in our society. Its about mind washing and reconstituting thought. Just as the average dupe cannot think of a hot summer day without thinking of global warming, he/she also cannot see a Catholic Priest without thinking “child molester,” or look at a police officer without thinking “rights abuser.” or look at a Black man without thinking “Dangerous Thug,” or see a picture of Sarah Palin without thinking “stupid.” The latest American institution under attack is the NFL and American football. It goes on and on … and the propaganda machine of the left, composed of the media, Hollywood and academia, I’m afraid, is winning.
