There are more important things going on in Barcelona
http://www.catalannewsagency.com/politics/item/catalan-president-signs-decree-calling-self-determination-consultation-vote-on-9-november
More important than football? That is blasphemy.
🙂
Hummm, November 9th has an ominous history in Europe, but especially so in Germany.
This date is known as Germany’s Day of Destiny or Schicksalstag, fate Day. It is there 4th of July, Columbus Day, and Pearl Harbor Day all rolled into one. I am not a superstitious man, but a little whistling while walking past the graveyard of history never hurt anyone. This is especially true this year the 100th anniversary of (pick one) WWI, The Great War, or the War to End All Wars.
Everything in every country on this planet was greatly changed by the events set in motion by one act of violence that happened in the Balkans on June 28, 1914 and the inept response of every so called “civilized” country on Earth to that 06/28/1914 violent act. I fear that we have the same type of incompetents in charge today as was in charge in Europe in 1914.
Yep, and there are now so many places where it could go wrong. One thing’s sure WWIII will be a short one. I myself calculate 1 or 2 hours before the elite can’t play golf for a long long time. I hope they know that too. Life is no fun without football for the lower class . But the elite would not survive without golf.
On Christmas Eve night in 1914, soldiers of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment of the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) heard the Germans singing Christmas carols from their trenches, and saw that they had adorned their trenches with lanterns and fir trees.
Both sides stopped shooting at each other. Messages began to be shouted between the trenches. The following day, British and German soldiers met in No Man’s Land, shook hands, exchanged gifts, took photographs and showed photos to each other of their loved ones. There was even a football match between the two sides, which the Germans won 3-2 (although the English would get revenge in 1966).
Even war had to stop for soccer.

True, but a soccer match has to stop for the worst ham acting in the history of theater.
I’m all for independence BUT
(1) this government wants to stay in the EU
Why change Madrid for Brussels ?
(2) this govern is on the climate change bandwagon
http://www.catalannewsagency.com/society-science/item/catalonia-fights-climate-change-by-reducing-public-transportation-prices-on-polluted-days
So I have NO trust in this government at all
This independence has nothing to do with me having more freedom.
There will be a Catalan championship which will be decided by 20 games between “FC Barcelona” and “Catalan Barcelona”.
Just joking. FC Barcelona will apply to play in the Spanish League, of course.
