Bathurst is about 50 miles west of Sydney, and is one of few locations in Australia with a coherent long-term temperature record. They had an unprecedented heatwave during January 1878.

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology hides all temperatures before 1910, because Australia was much hotter prior to 1910.

The record heat of 1878 was not caused by CO2, so climate scientists erase it instead of trying to understand it.  And the long term decline in temperatures at Bathurst is eliminated by homogenizing it into the Urban Heat Island of Sydney.
