Catastrophists (catastrophers?) always have time on their side. When a prediction fails to appear the just use the “we were lucky” phrase and push the prediction out a number of years or they depend on people to forget the old one when presented with the new.
When he was being vetted by the Senate they should have brought up all these ridiculous claims one by one until even the Democrats in the room would turn him down.
