Rising sea levels threaten small Pacific island nations
May 3, 2007
Dire climate change predictions may seem like science fiction in many parts of the world. But in the tiny, sea-swept Pacific nation of Tuvalu, the crisis has already arrived. Tuvalu consists of nine low-lying atolls totaling just 26 square kilometers, or 10 square miles, and in the past few years the “king tides” that peak in February have been rising higher than ever. Waves have washed over the island’s main roads; coconut trees stand partly submerged; and small patches of cropland have been rendered unusable because of encroaching saltwater. The government and many experts already assume the worst: Sometime in the next 50 years, if rising sea-level predictions prove accurate, the entire 11,800-strong population will have to be evacuated.
Rising sea levels threaten small Pacific island nations – The New York Times
Sea level is not rising at Tuvalu, but facts aren’t important to the left. It is all about finding ways to steal your money and freedom.
And of course, climate change worsens their diabetes and obesity too (read article).
Any excuse to blame someone or something other than themselves for their condition . What , take responsibility for their own actions ? And the new york times is the island that is drowning . They are losing money every year and only stay in business as a propaganda tool .
“It’s not my fault!”
“You’re all to blame!”
Same wrong message from the same fools.
How did the warm period in 1998 (super El-Nino) cause a sudden drop in sea level? It seems a bit counter intuitive.
No it is not. Normally the surface water is pushed west and blocked by Australia and New Guinea . In an El Niño this push disappears and the surface water falls from the higher west to the lower east.

How about this for a concise explanation:
The primary cause of anomalous ocean conditions is the El Niño/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) in the equatorial Pacific Ocean. Westward winds normally maintain slightly higher water levels in the western Pacific relative to the eastern Pacific. Every three to five years, in a non-periodic pattern, the winds weaken and water levels in the western Pacific drop below normal. The southern equatorial current is weakened and water temperatures in the eastern Pacific rise. This condition is known as El Niño. The opposite condition, known as La Niña, occurs when westward equatorial winds are unusually strong and water levels in the western Pacific become anomalously high. The south equatorial current strengthens, accompanied by below normal water temperatures in the eastern Pacific.
The effect of other El Niños are visible too, especially the 2010 event, but the 1997-8 event was particularly strong. Even right around Australia a lesser effect is seen. On the other side of the Pacific the opposite happens – sea levels drop significantly along the west coast of the US during El Niños.
Excellent!

What did the Neanderthals do?
During their 600,000 year history, Neanderthals experienced repeated glacial events and sea level changes.
I was camping on the beach once years ago, like a Neanderthal.
In the middle of the night I woke up with a soggy sleeping bag.
Like an intelligent Neanderthal, I moved.
That was the wrong thing to do, you should have contacted Greenpiss or some other taxpayer thieving organization and demand action about your current status. A hockey stick graph would have been produced to prove that you started out dry but because of excessive man made agw, you were now a camping refugee and action would have been taken to move you to higher ground.
Rather than move a few feet, what may have happened back then was that the tribe called a meeting of the elders. They played bongo drums to the reindeer god demanding that the seas be rolled back. Various sacrifices of much needed pelts and food stuffs were made. Subsequently, the Neanderthals became extinct.
Neanderthals merged with humans to make smarter humans:

I have read that Neanderthals had red hair, blue eyes, and freckles.
They were smart enough to have weathered at least 6 ice ages until they caught the eye of the prettier, delicate, human girls. Their dna is in us, except south of the sahara.
That fact can explain a few of the world’s inequities.
And Will, the bongo is from the congo.
It’s a little known fact that the Congolese merely reinvented the bongo.
(As to what happened to the Neanderthals or us, that is speculation.)

Well now that I glanced over a Looney green nut job fighting strawmen, I’m sold.
While I can see why “the left” appears to be promoting the nonsense, over where I am from, the “left”, in Nostraclimate and Green Fraud, is as German as knockwurst
so the sinking isles built a whole new island to land planes on for the tourists?
and are selling land all over to the mega rich.building new hotels etc
while admitting that they mined their own reefs for building and to sell coral to tourists:-)
and hands out claiming support n funds from our idiots in Aus parliament and other stupid enough to hand it over.
I wonder what the population of Tuvalu was an hundred years ago? Is it possible that the reason salt water is encroaching and making agricultural land infertile is that increasing fresh water extraction, to supply a growing population and tourists, allows salt water to get closer to the surface?
You’ve probably seen Willis Eschenbach’s very clear explanation of what’s happening on coral atolls; for others, here it is:

I guess with the circumference of influence and water draw down fer their wells there, they will point to CO2 by the west and not them selves. Agenda 21 fer everyone else but themselves as they claim their prize freebees.
And the UN pats their back as they pats the UN’s back, like the pal review we all seen! 😆
